Ser franco significa ser real y no tener tiempo para quien no lo es. No significa que seas maleducado, ni que seas mezquino.<\/p>\n

It just means that you are comfortable enough with yourself to be honest with those around you, hoping they\u2019ll return the favor.<\/p>\n

But often it turns out that you have to mince words and watch out not to hurt somebody\u2019s feelings by your sincerity that is in no way meant to insult anyone.<\/p>\n

There is nothing wrong with being genuine. It only means you don\u2019t have time for games. You say it like it is. You don\u2019t sugarcoat anything, and you <\/i>nunca<\/i><\/b> ...con la intenci\u00f3n de parecer grosero.<\/i><\/p>\n

It\u2019s the people who choose to see this as something negative, whereas they should be thankful to have a person in their life who will always tell them the truth and not say nice things just for the sake of them feeling good about themselves.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not friendship if you have to watch what you say at all times, anyway.<\/p>\n

You wish people would start appreciating your transparency no matter the situation because it\u2019s not always easy being the only one who has to say things that other people think but are too afraid to say out loud.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there are people in this world who aren\u2019t aware of the distinction between being blunt and being rude, so here are some struggles that I\u2019m sure all us blunt people can identify with on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> People ask you for advice on basically anything, even if you know nothing about the topic, because they know you won\u2019t mince words.<\/p>\n

But when you give them your honest opinion, they get offended if it\u2019s not to their liking.<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Small talk bores you! You are so annoyed when you\u2019re in a situation when you have to talk about trivial stuff, like weather, clothes, other people\u2026 it\u2019s not how you like to spend your time.<\/p>\n

You prefer talking about important and interesting stuff, something of substance. Gossip and such don\u2019t interest you.<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> A veces, incluso tus amigos se burlan de ti por tu comportamiento directo, insinuando sutilmente que quiz\u00e1 deber\u00edas bajar un poco el tono.<\/p>\n

But all you\u2019re being is honesto<\/i><\/b>, and it\u2019s so annoying how people can perceive it as anything but. You refuse to be fake, and that\u2019s that.<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> When there\u2019s someone new hanging out with you and your crew, you are usually introduced as someone who \u201cdoesn\u2019t bite\u2019\u2019 and honestly, it\u2019s just plain disrespectful.<\/p>\n

People get the wrong idea about you from the get-go, and it\u2019s not okay.<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> Te sientes muy inc\u00f3modo alrededor de personas muy sensibles<\/a> porque sientes que tienes que tener mucho cuidado a su alrededor.<\/p>\n

And you don\u2019t like having to walk on eggshells around anyone. So, it\u2019s just plain awkward.<\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> You can\u2019t even count how many times you\u2019ve had to say, \u201cRelax, I\u2019m just joking!\u2019\u2019 to your friends and basically anyone!<\/p>\n

Siempre se las arreglan para convertir un sentimiento inofensivo y sincero en algo por lo que disculparse.<\/p>\n

They can get sooo easily offended, and it\u2019s like they don\u2019t know you at all.<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Since you\u2019re the only one who will always say what you mean without sugarcoating it, you\u2019re often forced to go shopping with your friends\u2014and a lot!<\/p>\n

You\u2019re the only one who won\u2019t be afraid of telling your friend that her new pants look like something a cat threw up.<\/p>\n

8.<\/strong> Si uno de tus amigos fue un desastre borracho la noche anterior e hizo algo vergonzoso o molesto, nadie dir\u00e1 nada, sino que te mirar\u00e1 a ti, insinuando que deber\u00edas ser t\u00fa quien les dijera lo desastre que fueron y les reprendiera.<\/p>\n

9.<\/strong> You always get set up with people who they deem \u201cjust as mean\u2019\u2019 no matter how many times you\u2019ve told them how harsh that is and that opposites attract.<\/p>\n

10.<\/strong> Act\u00faas de forma diferente con las personas que te caen bien y con las que te caen mal.<\/p>\n

Usually, when you like someone you will be very relaxed, sarcastic and totally open around them, but when you\u2019re in the company of someone you don\u2019t like, you\u2019ll be more reserved, quiet and extra careful not to say something that could potentially offend them.<\/p>\n

11.<\/strong> People usually make fun of and joke about how you\u2019re mean, but they don\u2019t seem to understand the idea of honesty.<\/p>\n

Siempre hay que lucha<\/a> with the feeling of constantly being misunderstood and being introduced to people as someone you\u2019re really not.<\/p>\n

You just really hope that people can start appreciating you for the genuine person you are because if you stopped being who you are, they wouldn\u2019t have anyone in the friend group who would be able to tell them la cruda verdad<\/a> cuando realmente lo necesitan.<\/p>\n

12.<\/strong> You find it so unnecessary and rude when your friends call you out in front of new people when you\u2019re being polite.<\/p>\n

Parecen olvidar que s\u00f3lo eres brusco con ellos, y que siempre intentas ser considerado cuando hay gente nueva a tu alrededor.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re never blunt for the sake of being mean! And you really wish people would get that already.<\/p>\n

13.<\/strong> Since you\u2019re so honest about everything, people just assume you hate so many things, but that couldn\u2019t be farther from the truth!<\/p>\n

You just don\u2019t feel the need to say you like something just for the sake of seeming nice.<\/p>\n

When you like something, you\u2019re not afraid to show it, and when you don\u2019t, you make it clear. If people still don\u2019t get that, it\u2019s their problem.<\/p>\n

14.<\/strong> One of your biggest problems is when you actually do like something, like your friend\u2019s new dress for her sister\u2019s wedding, or her new car that she just bought.<\/p>\n

You have to be overly enthusiastic in order for them not to think that you\u2019re being sarcastic or saying it to make them feel good!<\/p>\n

You always have to be careful regardless of how much you actually like something. It\u2019s like a vicious cycle, and it\u2019s sooo tiring.<\/p>\n

15.<\/strong> The word \u2018blunt\u2019 has such negative connotations, and you prefer to be called \u2018honest\u2019 instead. Because in all honesty \u2013 that\u2019s exactly what you are!<\/p>\n
