There are so many ways in which you can love but there is only one word for it. Isn\u2019t that sad? There are so many feelings of love, there are so many written poems and love stories but there is only one way to express it.<\/p>\n

Maybe it\u2019s just a lack of imagination or we are just using one word powerful enough to capture the beauty of that feeling.<\/p>\n

Eros (Amor apasionado)<\/h2>\n

Eros es el dios griego de la pasi\u00f3n y el deseo sexual. En la mitolog\u00eda griega, es uno de los Erotes, los dioses alados. Erotes es un grupo de dioses alados de la mitolog\u00eda griega asociados a las relaciones sexuales.<\/p>\n

Se dice que Eros era hijo de Afrodita, la diosa del amor. Tambi\u00e9n se le conoce como el dios de la fertilidad. Aunque hoy en d\u00eda, cuando la gente piensa en Eros, tiene sentimientos positivos porque se le ha estereotipado para representar el amor.<\/p>\n

De hecho, en la antigua Grecia, Eros ten\u00eda una connotaci\u00f3n negativa. Se le consideraba el dios del amor irracional, el dios de la lujuria y de todos los aspectos negativos del amor. atracci\u00f3n sexual bruta<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Storge is the type of love that exists between a parent and a child. It\u2019s a subtype of Philia because it\u2019s almost the same, especially during the phase when the children are younger. But unlike Philia, Storge doesn\u2019t depend on your personal qualities.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a type of love that exists because of dependency and familiarity. You can\u2019t choose your family, you are born into it and you love them no matter what.<\/p>\n

En una relaci\u00f3n, buscamos Philia y Storge, pero s\u00f3lo lo conseguimos si tenemos suerte. La mayor\u00eda acabamos s\u00f3lo con Eros. Pero cuando Eros muta en Philia, despu\u00e9s de a\u00f1os de estar juntos, t\u00fa y tu pareja pod\u00e9is desarrollar Storge.<\/p>\n

\u00c1gape (Amor desinteresado)<\/h2>\n

Agape is selfless love, a love you have for everyone, for nature, for God. It\u2019s an unconditional love and the closest term to describe Agape is charity. It\u2019s about loving someone without getting any personal gain.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a form of love for your family member or complete strangers, it doesn\u2019t matter. The love you have is the same toward everyone.<\/p>\n

En el cristianismo, \u00c1gape o caridad es el nivel m\u00e1s alto de amor que se puede dar. Seg\u00fan el cristianismo, pero tambi\u00e9n seg\u00fan otras religiones, la caridad y el amor desinteresado deben ser el modo de vida. Ludus (Amor joven)<\/h2>\n

Ludus is connected to Eros but it\u2019s much more innocent. It\u2019s also about passion and the physical but it\u2019s not as dangerous. It\u2019s a form of love that appears between two young lovers. That love is playful and, most importantly, sincere.<\/p>\n

Ludus relationships are not serious, there is no commitment. It\u2019s just about having fun and enjoying yourself for as long as it lasts. If it ends, you\u2019re happy you had it.<\/p>\n

When you first fall in love with someone, that honeymoon phase, that craziness you\u2019re feeling, that\u2019s Ludus. If Ludus continues for some time, it can grow into Philia.<\/p>\n

La gente deber\u00eda aferrarse a Ludus porque la mayor\u00eda de las relaciones largas pierden ese car\u00e1cter l\u00fadico con el tiempo y se vuelven demasiado serias, en las que s\u00f3lo surgen problemas al cabo de un tiempo.<\/p>\n

When two people have the same interests and the same goals, which they can achieve much easier if they are together, then that love is called Pragma. It\u2019s a practical type of love and the most common place to find it is in arranged marriages.<\/p>\n

People don\u2019t often practice arranged marriages but in the past, it was a completely normal thing to do. Royalty got married to keep the royal blood intact. People got married because of political connections. Wealthy people married into wealth to keep and add more land to their wealth.<\/p>\n

And even though those two people didn\u2019t love each other in the beginning, the relationship worked over time because of the compromises for a greater cause.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to fall in love but in modern times, people have difficulty staying in love. Pragma is about staying in love, about learning to make exceptions for the other person, about tolerance and respect. And when you think about it, all of these are the key ingredients to preserving a verdadera relaci\u00f3n<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Muchas relaciones empiezan como Eros o Ludus pero acaban como Storge o Pragma. Al menos deber\u00eda ser as\u00ed, pero la mayor\u00eda de ellas se desmoronan en las primeras etapas y nunca llegan a crecer hasta convertirse en un tipo de amor real y serio.<\/p>\n

Philautia (Amor propio)<\/h2>\n

Este amor puede ser bueno o malo para ti. Depende de c\u00f3mo se mire. Algunas personas piensan que el amor propio consiste en ser ego\u00edsta y buscar \u00fanicamente su propio bienestar. Piensan que pueden ponerse por encima de los dem\u00e1s. Ese es el tipo malo de amor propio.<\/p>\n

The good kind of self-love is taking care of yourself just as well as you take care of others. It\u2019s about being kind to yourself and never ignoring your own needs. Because when you grow to hate yourself, you can\u2019t love anyone else.<\/p>\n

Los antiguos griegos conceb\u00edan el amor en diferentes tipos. Pero todos estos tipos pueden convertirse de uno en otro. Pueden evolucionar.<\/p>\n

And in the end, when you finally find the right person you\u2019re going to spend the rest of our life with, you\u2019ll go through all of the types of love with them. You\u2019ll have physical attraction, playful love, respect, a friendly love, a common goal and above all, you\u2019re going to love yourself.<\/p>\n
