Basta ya de juegos de citas. Estoy agotada. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I don\u2019t like playing them, and I hate feeling like a toy a man can easily toss. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All the tactics, head games, chasing, who texted who first, who is clingy, who is cool\u2026 are not allowing me to enjoy dating. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I want something normal\u2014a relationship in which a man and a woman meet each other halfway. Without all the drama, chasing and hoping in vain. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Lo juro, preferir\u00eda quedarme soltero para siempre <\/a>than play along with someone\u2019s dating game. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Estas son las cosas que me niego a hacer: <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1. Fingir que no me interesa <\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It\u2019s a thin line between interested and clingy. That\u2019s why we all try to play it cool. We are so careful not to reveal too much that we seem stone cold.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I am tired of it. What\u2019s the point in non-texting back ASAP when you want to or saying you can\u2019t go out with them tonight when every atom of your being says you do. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pretending like you couldn\u2019t care less for the person is just as much a turnoff as clinginess. That\u2019s why, if you ask me, the best thing is to find the middle ground and stay true to your feelings. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2. Provocar celos<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I\u2019ve been in situations where the person I am into would check out other women in front of me or flirt with them just to see my reaction. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It\u2019s a low blow, and I don\u2019t want anybody to feel as miserable as I did in those moments. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As\u00ed que, si la \u00fanica manera de conseguir al chico es poni\u00e9ndolo celoso, entonces no es el indicado para m\u00ed.  <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

3. Retrasar una respuesta<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I think most of us have tried this technique. We\u2019ve been told time and time again that replying within a few seconds of getting a text will make us seem desperate. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As\u00ed que esperamos una hora o m\u00e1s y respondemos con la esperanza de que eso haga que un hombre nos persiga. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Puede que haya algo de verdad en eso, e incluso puede que funcione en ocasiones. Aun as\u00ed, prefiero no hacerlo porque s\u00e9 lo mal que me sent\u00ed cuando me hicieron lo mismo. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Miraba el m\u00f3vil cada pocos minutos. Mirar una pantalla vac\u00eda era tan decepcionante que me pon\u00eda triste. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I get that not every text can be answered right away, but they can\u2019t all be replied to too late, now can they?  It\u2019s playing head games, and I won\u2019t be a part of it. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

4. Dar falsas esperanzas<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I\u2019ve never done this to anyone, but I\u2019ve been colgado a lo largo de<\/a> en el pasado. Vivir a la espera de algo que podr\u00eda ser, con la esperanza de que vengan d\u00edas mejores, es una p\u00e9rdida de tiempo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

From now on, either we are in an exclusive relationship or we are nothing. Everything besides that is a kind of torture I don\u2019t need in my life. I\u2019ve been through a lot as it is.  <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Being somebody\u2019s almost when they are your everything is the worst, and I won\u2019t play along. I won\u2019t be anybody\u2019s toy. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

5. Actuar como si nos gustaran las mismas cosas <\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pretending I like football or hockey when I don\u2019t know the first thing about it is not for me. It\u2019s for the girls in high school who desperately want their crush to like them. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I\u2019m too old for that shit, to put it bluntly. Me and my potential significant others don\u2019t have to have everything in common.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Tener algunos intereses similares es m\u00e1s que suficiente para mantener conversaciones significativas y estrechar lazos.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

If we don\u2019t even have a few, it\u2019s better to know right from the start than act like I am somebody I am not. I would be exhausted from it in no time. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

6. Ser utilizado como medio para dar celos a su ex<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It\u2019s an awful thing falling in love for someone who is using you to get back at their ex. That situation is hurtful for everybody involved. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It\u2019s despicable, and I don\u2019t want to be a part of it. Where there are ex issues involved, I am not there. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

7. Fingir amor para tener sexo <\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When I look back, it seems like almost every other guy I ever dated had the same agenda\u2014how to get into my pants. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Fingir que est\u00e1n realmente interesados, que quieren algo m\u00e1s que una relaci\u00f3n casual, incluso decir \u201cI love you\u201d <\/a>son todos medios para un fin. Decir mentiras es algo natural para ellos. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Evoking someone\u2019s feelings without having any intention to love them is the lowest of the lows.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Creo que respetar\u00eda m\u00e1s a un hombre que dice sinceramente que s\u00f3lo quiere ligar que a esos mentirosos que juegan con mis emociones. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

8. Ser reservado sobre una relaci\u00f3n <\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I don\u2019t want other people to know about us; I am still not ready for that. Others knowing would mess everything up, and similar phrases are things I don\u2019t want to hear.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

If I am with someone, I want the world to know. It doesn\u2019t have to be after a few dates, but once we establish we are in a relationship, it has to be a public one, not a secret one. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Somos adultos y debemos comportarnos como tales. Si un hombre tiene todas las ventajas de un novio cuando estamos solos, tambi\u00e9n puede comportarse como mi novio cuando estamos en p\u00fablico.  <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

9. 9. Jugar a mensajes de texto <\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Who texted who first shouldn\u2019t be an issue. Both sides involved should make equal efforts in texting. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What shouldn\u2019t happen is one person initiating conversations always or most times. It shows disinterest and laziness.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Iniciar una conversaci\u00f3n en una cita significa que las dos personas implicadas deben encontrarse a medio camino. Nada debe ser unilateral. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I mean if we can\u2019t even text like normal human beings, what more is there to talk about? <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

10. On again off again<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My heart doesn\u2019t come with a switch attached to it. I can\u2019t turn my emotions on and off and on demand.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I can\u2019t give someone second, third, fourth…chances to break my heart all over again.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I can\u2019t put my life on hold while someone decides whether or not I am worthy of their time. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

That\u2019s no way to live. That\u2019s no way to love. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Si estamos juntos, estamos juntos. Si rompemos una vez, no hay vuelta atr\u00e1s.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

11. Cerrar mis opciones mientras \u00e9l mantiene las suyas abiertas<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Once I am into someone, I am into them and no one else. On the other hand, guys I\u2019ve dated don\u2019t share my opinion. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Sal\u00edan conmigo, me hac\u00edan ilusiones y me dejaban de lado porque hab\u00edan conocido a alguien nuevo o estaban saliendo con otra persona mientras sal\u00edan conmigo. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I will try to change that and keep my options open until I hear that \u2018we are exclusive\u2019 come out of his mouth. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

12. Promesas de cambio <\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Oh the promises… I am sick and tired of hearing them when I know they are leading nowhere.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u201cI will change; I swear, just stay.\u201d ,  \u201cI will try harder.\u201d, \u201cI will invest more in us.\u201d ,  \u201cThings will get better. I promise.\u201d , \u201cJust till I sort this thing out then I will have more time for us.\u201d etc. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Quedarse con alguien que hace promesas constantemente y nunca las cumple es una p\u00e9rdida de tiempo. Har\u00eda un esfuerzo durante unos d\u00edas y luego volver\u00eda a las andadas. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My heart would trust and hope, but my gut would always whisper, \u201cHe won\u2019t change baby girl.\u201d My gut was always wiser, and I am going to listen to it more attentively.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
