A veces en la vida pensamos que lo sabemos todo. Creemos que sabemos exactamente cu\u00e1ndo nos tienen que pasar las cosas y cu\u00e1ndo. Pero la vida no funciona as\u00ed.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As much as you\u2019d like it (as would I), you\u2019re not in control of your destiny. God is. And sometimes all you can do is decide to let things happen the way they are supposed to and pray it all works out.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Recuerdo haber conocido a este <\/em>chico perfecto<\/em><\/a> hace unos a\u00f1os. Fue un momento extra\u00f1o para m\u00ed, ya que estaba luchando con algunas cosas, pero recuerdo claramente el momento en que lo conoc\u00ed y sent\u00ed esa vibraci\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

That\u2019s the one. And this guy was something special. He knew just what to say and how to treat me, and I felt like this was the one for me, no doubt about it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Aunque en aquel momento ten\u00eda problemas (una leve adicci\u00f3n al alcohol y una situaci\u00f3n de vida poco ideal), decid\u00ed que estaba preparado para la vida. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Sent\u00ed que hab\u00eda conocido al hombre con el que deb\u00eda pasar toda mi vida, a pesar de las evidentes se\u00f1ales de alarma (la mayor\u00eda por mi parte).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

See, I was in no place for a stable, healthy, love story. I wasn\u2019t equipped to deal with that all-encompassing love that takes you for a spin and makes you want to commit for life.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Yo era un l\u00edo caliente.<\/a> Estaba tan mal que hasta la idea de cuidar y alimentar una relaci\u00f3n me daba v\u00e9rtigo, pero me enga\u00f1\u00e9 a m\u00ed misma pensando que estaba preparada para ello.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I went against myself and ignored all of his pleas to get help. I just thought I knew best. In my head \u2013 I was fine. <\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Who doesn\u2019t drink every now and then? So what if I couldn\u2019t find a permanent place to live? Isn\u2019t that the way it\u2019s supposed to be when you\u2019re young?<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But it wasn\u2019t, and it took me a few years to come to terms with it. I thought I knew what I was doing. I thought I could flip a switch inside of me just like that and make everything okay\u2026 but I couldn\u2019t.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Huelga decir que mi relaci\u00f3n se desmoron\u00f3 antes de que pudiera florecer. Nunca tuvimos una oportunidad. Ojal\u00e1 me hubiera dado cuenta antes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Tengo que decir que fue una p\u00edldora dif\u00edcil de tragar, pero ten\u00eda que pasar para que yo adquiriera esta perspectiva tan necesaria.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Now I know that God is the only one who knows what I need. And He won\u2019t show it to me until He knows that I am ready. And that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Porque, sinceramente, \u00bfqu\u00e9 sabemos realmente de la vida y del amor? <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You learn as you go. You make your mistakes, and only after you\u2019ve learned from those mistakes does God show you the one you\u2019re destinado a ser<\/a> con.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I know it might seem a bit harsh, but that\u2019s the truth. I\u2019ve stopped thinking I know everything. I\u2019ve stopped believing that I know what\u2019s best. I don\u2019t, and it feels so good to be able to say that.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It\u2019s all in God\u2019s hands. And trust me \u2013 He knows what He\u2019s doing.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

At times it might feel like you\u2019re lost. And in those times, you need to keep your faith that this is the path you need to walk in order to make your mistake and learn a valuable lesson from it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Cuando dejes de ver tus errores como algo malo y empieces a tratarlos como experiencias de aprendizaje, las cosas empezar\u00e1n a irte mejor. A m\u00ed me pas\u00f3.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Dios siempre est\u00e1 all\u00ed para ti<\/a>. You may not always see and hear Him, but He\u2019s there, and He hears you.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And you know what? Just because it may seem that your life is a constant storm of shitty things, it doesn\u2019t mean that He doesn\u2019t have something magnificent planned for you!<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Just a few short years back, I was a mess. I didn\u2019t have a place to live. I couldn\u2019t keep a friend to save my life, and I drowned my misery in booze.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And do you know where I\u2019m now? I am in the best headspace I have ever been. I let God take control, and things slowly started looking up.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Once I realized I couldn\u2019t control what would happen to me and that forcing things when they\u2019re not supposed to be is only going to backfire, I gained this beautiful perspective that changed my life.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ahora soy una mujer enamorada. Y es pac\u00edfico, tranquilizador y todo tipo de derecho. \u00bfY quieres saber por qu\u00e9? Porque primero cuid\u00e9 de m\u00ed misma.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Me di prioridad a m\u00ed misma. Y un d\u00eda, las piezas del rompecabezas empezaron a encajar, y mi vida se estaba convirtiendo en algo de lo que por fin me sent\u00eda orgullosa.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Dios me mostr\u00f3 al hombre con el que deb\u00eda estar s\u00f3lo cuando estuve realmente preparada para verlo. Y ni un minuto antes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A few years ago, it wouldn\u2019t have worked out. But today, it\u2019s the best thing that\u2019s ever happened to me, and I can proudly and selflessly give it my all.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Learn to let go. Trust God and His plan. Just because today you\u2019re struggling doesn\u2019t mean tomorrow won\u2019t get better! He\u2019ll make sure it does, and I am your living proof!<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
