Yes, it’s possible, I realized I’m happy ser soltero<\/a>\u00a1! Nunca pens\u00e9 que lo dir\u00eda pero aqu\u00ed estamos.<\/p>\n

There’s a certain stigma surrounding people who are single and choosing to be single in their adult life.<\/p>\n

While I can understand why that’s the case, I also want to shed some light on the reasons why I don’t agree with it.<\/p>\n

It’s a different experience, for sure but it doesn’t mean it’s any less good.<\/p>\n

Your relationship status shouldn’t be an obstacle to your personal growth. Meeting el<\/em> isn’t everyone’s ultimate life goal.<\/p>\n

As someone who was in a long term relationship and then spontaneously decided to remain single after the break-up, I\u2019d like to share with you what I found to be particularly beneficial, valuable and true during my time of singleness.<\/p>\n

Being part of a couple is, without a doubt, a wonderful thing but that doesn’t mean it can’t be hard work.<\/p>\n

If we want a healthy relationship, we need to work hard to align our needs with our partner’s needs.<\/p>\n

That’s admirable but sometimes in that process, we start losing ourself.<\/p>\n

The fact that everyone acts differently from their normal self when they’re falling in love doesn’t help.<\/p>\n

Nuestra pareja nos conoce a trav\u00e9s de lo que presentamos al principio de la relaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Later on, when the first love spell washes off, we’re stuck trying to fulfill expectations that weren’t even completely reasonable to begin with.<\/p>\n

This might sound harsh, but in many cases, it’s true. For this reason, becoming and staying single can be great to renew our relationship with ourself.<\/p>\n

When there’s no one to criticize you, you become your own critic.<\/p>\n

Being your own critic is always more productive than listening to someone else and that\u2019s how you slowly start truly accepting yourself.<\/p>\n

It’s also possible that their partner doesn’t understand their interests so they abandon them altogether.<\/p>\n

Being single allows you to explore your interests and do what you’ve been postponing your whole life, especially during a time of coupledom.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n te retan a superarte siempre en algo y a dedicar menos tiempo a actividades in\u00fatiles o negativas.<\/p>\n

3. Todo lo que haces est\u00e1 libre de culpa<\/h2>\n

Estar en una relaci\u00f3n comprometida tiene sus altibajos, obviamente.<\/p>\n

Uno de los downs<\/em> is feeling guilty over perfectly normal stuff like spending time with your friends or doing anything that doesn’t involve your partner.<\/p>\n

Should I even mention irrational jealousy? I’m sure that’s something you experienced in your past relationships.<\/p>\n

It’s a strong emotion that makes us feel like we’re doing something against our partner when in reality we just need time for ourself or the company of someone else.<\/p>\n

It’s not a question of loyalty or dedication, just a need for different experiences.<\/p>\n

And that’s normal. Sometimes you need your own company.<\/p>\n

The point is: it’s not wrong to spend time with yourself and you can enjoy being single.<\/p>\n

4. Puedes seguir siendo rom\u00e1ntica como mujer soltera<\/h2>\n

Pensar que el romanticismo s\u00f3lo es posible en pareja es el mayor de los errores.<\/p>\n

And that’s what many women want.<\/p>\n

Prepararse una cena puede ser rom\u00e1ntico. Comprarte perfume y flores puede ser rom\u00e1ntico.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the same with walking in the park and choosing a window seat.<\/p>\n

\"Mujer<\/p>\n

Establecer contacto visual con un desconocido y emocionarse con un libro que acabas de leer.<\/p>\n

Hacer un viaje o visitar un museo de arte. Todas estas cosas pueden ser rom\u00e1nticas cuando se hacen a solas.<\/p>\n

El romance consiste en sentirse conmovido y emocionado por algo inspirador y misterioso.<\/p>\n

The next time your friend tries to be a matchmaker, tell her you’re in a romantic relationship with yourself.<\/p>\n

5. You’re focused on your career goals more than ever<\/h2>\n

Otra raz\u00f3n you’re a happy single<\/a> is your career. It’s no secret that a lot of hard-working and career-focused people are single.<\/p>\n

Mientras que para algunos eso puede ser s\u00f3lo un mecanismo de supervivencia (y un problema para un psic\u00f3logo cl\u00ednico), para otros puede ser algo beneficioso, sobre todo despu\u00e9s de una ruptura.<\/p>\n

When we’re single and undistracted by a cluttered mind, we’re more likely to be focused and more productive at our job and we don’t feel guilty about it.<\/p>\n

6. It’s easier to plan things<\/h2>\n

It’s no surprise that by being in charge of your time and without responsibility for anyone other than yourself, you’ll feel freer.<\/p>\n

Planning a trip is a lot easier for one person; there’s no never ending adjusting and scheduling.<\/p>\n

There’s no canceling plans because of the other person or making another person sad by canceling plans.<\/p>\n

You don’t depend on someone’s mood and will to do something or go somewhere.<\/p>\n

Even everyday things like making dinner are so much simpler when you’re planning them alone.<\/p>\n

7. Tus amistades se hacen m\u00e1s profundas<\/h2>\n

When we’re in a long-term relationship, sometimes our other relationships suffer, especially if we’re prone to be stuck in coupledom.<\/p>\n

That’s not fair to our friends. Being single is the perfect time to dedicate yourself to your family and friends.<\/p>\n

La familia y los amigos son cosas muy importantes en la vida.<\/p>\n

Mientras que una relaci\u00f3n sentimental puede ser a veces exigente y agotadora (debido a las altas expectativas que dos personas tienen la una de la otra), las relaciones con nuestros amigos y familiares pueden ser tan relajantes y sanadoras.<\/p>\n

When we’re single, we spend more time with our friends and get to deepen our relationships with them.<\/p>\n

For example, in a friendship, you don’t have to impress anyone. You don’t have to think about jealousy or defend yourself over unimportant things.<\/p>\n

A genuine relationship can create a deep bond between two people and when people love each other without conditions, that’s one of the most precious things in life.<\/p>\n

8. You’re more spontaneous<\/h2>\n

This is no surprise either. Being on your own and unrestricted by other people’s plans makes you a lot more flexible.<\/p>\n

You’re free to decide whatever you want.<\/p>\n

La espontaneidad es muy importante en la vida. Tener momentos inesperados y aprovechar el momento es una forma incre\u00edble de atesorar tu vida.<\/p>\n

No estar constantemente estresado por peque\u00f1as decisiones es tan liberador para el alma.<\/p>\n

Being spontaneous means not setting boundaries for what you can accomplish; it’s choosing to be in the moment and to express yourself as you feel at that moment.<\/p>\n

Being spontaneous means you’re always up to something new, it means you’re ready for whatever comes your way.<\/p>\n

Teniendo eso seguir la corriente<\/em> mentality is what keeps you grounded and stress-free. Isn\u2019t that a reason to feel happy being single?<\/p>\n

9. Experimenta las cosas de forma diferente<\/h2>\n

When we’re in some sort of partnership, we’re more likely to transfer responsibilities and become dependable on or influenced by other people’s experiences.<\/p>\n

When you’re alone, you’re forced to depend on yourself only and explore your limitations. It’s a totally different experience.<\/p>\n

It’s good to motivate ourself to experience things on our own, even if they’re more intense.<\/p>\n

10. Tienes m\u00e1s confianza en ti mismo<\/h2>\n

Self-care is one of the things we do better when we’re single.<\/p>\n

Hacer ejercicio a diario, comer alimentos nutritivos, organizarse, establecer l\u00edmites, dormir mejor y, en general, dedicarnos m\u00e1s tiempo a nosotros mismos es lo que nos hace sentir m\u00e1s seguros de nosotros mismos.<\/p>\n

Other than that, we don’t have to ignore attention from other people, we can enjoy it.<\/p>\n

When single, you’re less likely to ask for reassurance or worry about things you can’t control.<\/p>\n

Eso equivale a confianza. Y la confianza es sexy.<\/p>\n

11. You learn that being single isn’t about being afraid to love<\/h2>\n

No! Being single doesn’t mean you’re afraid of love or not emotionally mature.<\/p>\n

Being single means you’re dedicated to working on yourself without anyone’s approval and that’s an admirable thing.<\/p>\n

Being single can be a call to focus on yourself and there’s nothing wrong about that.<\/p>\n

Focusing on yourself isn’t selfish; in fact, it’s very considerate.<\/p>\n

It means you’re willing to work on being the best version of yourself.<\/p>\n

Being single and enjoying it means you’re open to life despite everything that has previously happened to you.<\/p>\n

Estar abierto a la vida significa ser valiente.<\/p>\n

Quiero terminar mis observaciones diciendo que puedes hacer lo que quieras a pesar de tu situaci\u00f3n sentimental.<\/p>\n

Our status shouldn’t be used as a way to define our value as a human being.<\/p>\n

Only we get to define our own value. It’s important for us to learn to accept ourself as we are and understand that we’re enough as we are.<\/p>\n

Para amar a todo y a todos, primero tenemos que aprender a amarnos a nosotros mismos.<\/p>\n

La mejor forma de aprender a quererse a uno mismo es estar en nuestra propia compa\u00f1\u00eda y permitirnos hacer lo que queramos, libres de expectativas y juicios.<\/p>\n

Your singlehood can the best thing that happens to you because that’s the time you learn to love yourself and just feel happy being single.<\/p>\n
