Can you believe that this day has come? Can you believe that we really are all grownups and that you\u2019re about to start a new stage of your life?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Maybe I don\u2019t want to believe it either.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Maybe I\u2019m a little bit selfish, despite all the thrill I feel for you. Maybe I\u2019m a little bit jealous of your future husband, for he is now becoming your person. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Or maybe I\u2019m chasing off the idea that we\u2019re getting older and that we should be wiser.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

That we\u2019re no longer little girls whose problems can be fixed by a couple of sleepovers, a few chick flicks, some wine, junk food, and a tub of ice-cream. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The truth is I can\u2019t believe that so much time has passed.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I can\u2019t believe that we\u2019ve made it \u2013 that we managed to keep our friendship intact for all these years, despite all the challenges, despite our differences, despite our busy lives, despite the distance, and despite other people in our lives. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But here we are, aren\u2019t we? Here we are, proving to the world and to ourselves that we\u2019ve made it and that our unbreakable bond is really a lifelong one. <\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You know, it\u2019s like it was yesterday when I first saw you: a lost, ragazza timida<\/a> stepping into our classroom, wondering if she\u2019ll be accepted.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Like it was yesterday when we helped each other with our first dates, when we wiped one another\u2019s tears after our first disappointments, when we graduated together\u2026 <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I will always cherish YOU and I can never thank God enough for putting you on my path because without a doubt, you\u2019re one of the most precious people in my life. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

However, enough about the past. Yes, we\u2019ve had some amazing and some less amazing moments and years, but we\u2019ve gone through each one of them together and that is the only thing that counts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I\u2019m not here to talk about that.I\u2019m here to talk about the beautiful future I\u2019m sure awaits you. To talk about the happiness you\u2019ll experience because you are someone who deserves it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Here we are \u2013 at the crown of our amicizia<\/a>. Here we are, on the happiest day of your life, holding each other\u2019s hands. Here we are, celebrating your wedding day.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

These are the only things I\u2019ll wish for you today: to have a happy life, to spend the rest of eternity beside your loved one, and for all of your dreams to come true.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I pray that you\u2019ll forever love and be loved, respect and be respected, appreciate and be appreciated. That you\u2019ll be an amazing wife and mother and that your marriage will be filled with nothing but joy and laughter.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
