Yes, it’s possible, I realized I’m happy essere single<\/a>! Non avrei mai pensato di dirlo, ma eccoci qui.<\/p>\n

There’s a certain stigma surrounding people who are single and choosing to be single in their adult life.<\/p>\n

While I can understand why that’s the case, I also want to shed some light on the reasons why I don’t agree with it.<\/p>\n

La vita da single pu\u00f2 essere appagante e significativa come lo sono le relazioni sentimentali.<\/p>\n

\"Due<\/p>\n

It’s a different experience, for sure but it doesn’t mean it’s any less good.<\/p>\n

Your relationship status shouldn’t be an obstacle to your personal growth. Meeting l'uno<\/em> isn’t everyone’s ultimate life goal.<\/p>\n

Anzi, in un certo senso i single possono essere ancora pi\u00f9 fortunati, perch\u00e9 hanno la possibilit\u00e0 di conoscere se stessi senza filtri, senza sacrificare nulla e facendo tutto questo al proprio ritmo.<\/p>\n

Maybe when the time is right I’d be happy to be one of those adorably obnoxious married people but for now, I’m happier single.<\/p>\n

Ci sono molti modi in cui le persone possono trarre beneficio dalla loro esperienza di single.<\/p>\n

As someone who was in a long term relationship and then spontaneously decided to remain single after the break-up, I\u2019d like to share with you what I found to be particularly beneficial, valuable and true during my time of singleness.<\/p>\n

1. Iniziate (finalmente) ad accettarvi pienamente<\/h2>\n

Being part of a couple is, without a doubt, a wonderful thing but that doesn’t mean it can’t be hard work.<\/p>\n

If we want a healthy relationship, we need to work hard to align our needs with our partner’s needs.<\/p>\n

That’s admirable but sometimes in that process, we start losing ourself.<\/p>\n

This might sound harsh, but in many cases, it’s true. For this reason, becoming and staying single can be great to renew our relationship with ourself.<\/p>\n

When there’s no one to criticize you, you become your own critic.<\/p>\n

Being your own critic is always more productive than listening to someone else and that\u2019s how you slowly start truly accepting yourself.<\/p>\n

3. Tutto ci\u00f2 che fate \u00e8 privo di sensi di colpa<\/h2>\n

Uno dei gi\u00f9<\/em> is feeling guilty over perfectly normal stuff like spending time with your friends or doing anything that doesn’t involve your partner.<\/p>\n

Should I even mention irrational jealousy? I’m sure that’s something you experienced in your past relationships.<\/p>\n

It’s a strong emotion that makes us feel like we’re doing something against our partner when in reality we just need time for ourself or the company of someone else.<\/p>\n

It’s not a question of loyalty or dedication, just a need for different experiences.<\/p>\n

And that’s normal. Sometimes you need your own company.<\/p>\n

The point is: it’s not wrong to spend time with yourself and you can enjoy being single.<\/p>\n

4. Si pu\u00f2 ancora essere romantici come donne single<\/h2>\n

Pensare che il romanticismo sia possibile solo in una coppia \u00e8 il pi\u00f9 grande equivoco che esista.<\/p>\n

Il romanticismo pu\u00f2 semplicemente rappresentare una qualit\u00e0 o una sensazione di mistero, eccitazione o lontananza nella vita quotidiana.<\/p>\n

And that’s what many women want.<\/p>\n

Prepararsi la cena pu\u00f2 essere romantico. Comprarsi profumi e fiori pu\u00f2 essere romantico.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the same with walking in the park and choosing a window seat.<\/p>\n

\"Donna<\/p>\n

Guardare negli occhi un estraneo ed emozionarsi per un libro appena letto.<\/p>\n

Fare un viaggio o visitare un museo d'arte. Tutte queste cose possono essere romantiche se fatte da soli.<\/p>\n

Il romanticismo consiste nel sentirsi emozionati ed eccitati per qualcosa di stimolante e misterioso.<\/p>\n

The next time your friend tries to be a matchmaker, tell her you’re in a romantic relationship with yourself.<\/p>\n

5. You’re focused on your career goals more than ever<\/h2>\n

Un altro motivo you’re a happy single<\/a> is your career. It’s no secret that a lot of hard-working and career-focused people are single.<\/p>\n

Mentre per alcuni potrebbe essere solo un meccanismo di coping (e un problema per uno psicologo clinico), per altri potrebbe essere una cosa benefica, soprattutto dopo una rottura.<\/p>\n

When we’re single and undistracted by a cluttered mind, we’re more likely to be focused and more productive at our job and we don’t feel guilty about it.<\/p>\n

6. It’s easier to plan things<\/h2>\n

It’s no surprise that by being in charge of your time and without responsibility for anyone other than yourself, you’ll feel freer.<\/p>\n

Planning a trip is a lot easier for one person; there’s no never ending adjusting and scheduling.<\/p>\n

There’s no canceling plans because of the other person or making another person sad by canceling plans.<\/p>\n

You don’t depend on someone’s mood and will to do something or go somewhere.<\/p>\n

Even everyday things like making dinner are so much simpler when you’re planning them alone.<\/p>\n

7. Le amicizie diventano pi\u00f9 profonde<\/h2>\n

When we’re in a long-term relationship, sometimes our other relationships suffer, especially if we’re prone to be stuck in coupledom.<\/p>\n

That’s not fair to our friends. Being single is the perfect time to dedicate yourself to your family and friends.<\/p>\n

La famiglia e gli amici sono cose molto importanti nella vita.<\/p>\n

Mentre una relazione sentimentale pu\u00f2 essere a volte impegnativa ed estenuante (a causa delle grandi aspettative che due persone hanno l'una nei confronti dell'altra), le relazioni con i nostri amici e familiari possono essere cos\u00ec rilassanti e curative.<\/p>\n

Avere amicizie vere nella nostra vita \u00e8 cos\u00ec importante per il nostro benessere.<\/p>\n

When we’re single, we spend more time with our friends and get to deepen our relationships with them.<\/p>\n

Ci sono tanti motivi per cui le amicizie sono a volte anche migliori delle relazioni.<\/p>\n

For example, in a friendship, you don’t have to impress anyone. You don’t have to think about jealousy or defend yourself over unimportant things.<\/p>\n

\"Due<\/p>\n

Potete essere voi stessi senza temere di essere percepiti come stupidi o imbranati.<\/p>\n

L'amicizia a volte \u00e8 una relazione pi\u00f9 autentica di quella romantica; non sempre, ma a volte.<\/p>\n

A genuine relationship can create a deep bond between two people and when people love each other without conditions, that’s one of the most precious things in life.<\/p>\n

8. You’re more spontaneous<\/h2>\n

This is no surprise either. Being on your own and unrestricted by other people’s plans makes you a lot more flexible.<\/p>\n

You’re free to decide whatever you want.<\/p>\n

Being spontaneous means not setting boundaries for what you can accomplish; it’s choosing to be in the moment and to express yourself as you feel at that moment.<\/p>\n

Being spontaneous means you’re always up to something new, it means you’re ready for whatever comes your way.<\/p>\n

Avendo questo seguire il flusso<\/em> mentality is what keeps you grounded and stress-free. Isn\u2019t that a reason to feel happy being single?<\/p>\n

9. Si sperimenta in modo diverso<\/h2>\n

When we’re in some sort of partnership, we’re more likely to transfer responsibilities and become dependable on or influenced by other people’s experiences.<\/p>\n

When you’re alone, you’re forced to depend on yourself only and explore your limitations. It’s a totally different experience.<\/p>\n

It’s good to motivate ourself to experience things on our own, even if they’re more intense.<\/p>\n

Self-care is one of the things we do better when we’re single.<\/p>\n

Other than that, we don’t have to ignore attention from other people, we can enjoy it.<\/p>\n

When single, you’re less likely to ask for reassurance or worry about things you can’t control.<\/p>\n

11. You learn that being single isn’t about being afraid to love<\/h2>\n

No! Being single doesn’t mean you’re afraid of love or not emotionally mature.<\/p>\n

Being single means you’re dedicated to working on yourself without anyone’s approval and that’s an admirable thing.<\/p>\n

Being single can be a call to focus on yourself and there’s nothing wrong about that.<\/p>\n

Focusing on yourself isn’t selfish; in fact, it’s very considerate.<\/p>\n

It means you’re willing to work on being the best version of yourself.<\/p>\n

Being single and enjoying it means you’re open to life despite everything that has previously happened to you.<\/p>\n

Essere aperti alla vita significa essere coraggiosi.<\/p>\n

Voglio concludere le mie osservazioni dicendo che potete fare tutto ci\u00f2 che volete nonostante il vostro stato di coppia.<\/p>\n

Our status shouldn’t be used as a way to define our value as a human being.<\/p>\n

Only we get to define our own value. It’s important for us to learn to accept ourself as we are and understand that we’re enough as we are.<\/p>\n

Per amare qualsiasi cosa e persona, dobbiamo prima imparare ad amare noi stessi.<\/p>\n

Your singlehood can the best thing that happens to you because that’s the time you learn to love yourself and just feel happy being single.<\/p>\n
