I’m writing this for every girl who has been through a lot in life. For every girl who’s been letting some wrong people in. For every girl who’s been hurt and whose heart has been broken.
I’m writing this for every girl who has deep emotional wounds. And every girl who didn’t let these wounds get the best of her.
For every girl who’s been shattered into pieces too many times but managed to get up and pick up those pieces. For every girl who was like a Phoenix which rose from the ashes at one point in her life.
I’m writing this for every girl who was stronger than everything that was bringing her down. Stronger than all the disappointments and humiliations. Stronger than all the people who tried to hold her back. Stronger than all the heartbreaks and stronger than all the pain.
Because I am this girl. And I am sure we’ve all been this girl at least once.
But I am not going to tell you about everything she has been through. I’m just going to tell you that her soul was wounded too many times.
I’m just going to tell you that she has numerous scars on her heart. But I am also going to tell you how proud she is of each one of those scars. And she has every right to be.
Because each one of these scars made her the person she is today.
Her scars are a reminder that she is only a human being. That she was once hurt and that there were times when she suffered. A reminder that she knows how to love and how to give herself to someone.
But most of all, they are a reminder that she is a strong woman who has managed to overcome each one of these wounds. A reminder that she has managed to survive all the bad things and negative people that used to be a part of her life.
The truth is that her scars made her a lot stronger and wiser. They’ve helped her see her true worth and everything she is capable of achieving.
They’ve made her see that she should never allow anyone to hurt her in any way. That she should never put up with anyone who doesn’t deserve a place in her life.
They’ve made her realize that she should always believe in herself. That she can do whatever she puts her mind to and that there is nothing and nobody who could prevent her from doing that.
They’ve helped her read people better, seeing who are the ones who deserve to be with her and who are the ones whom she needs to cut off before they even get a chance to emotionally damage her.
They’ve made her realize that putting herself first isn’t selfish at all and that this is exactly what she should be doing. That she should do whatever makes her happy and that she should never allow herself to prioritize someone who is always putting her last.
That she always needs to love herself more than she loves the man sitting next to her. That there are some deal breakers she should never put up with and that she has boundaries which are not negotiable.
They’ve made her realize that she is more than enough. That she doesn’t need to have a man in her life to complete her. That should never chase anyone who doesn’t want to be with her. That she is a complete person whose pain doesn’t define her.
They’ve made her see that she should never settle for someone who doesn’t appreciate or love her enough. That she should never settle for less regarding anything in life. That she is made for great things and great people.
But most of all, her scars taught her the importance of self-love and respect. Despite all the pain she’s been through, they’ve taught her that life is beautiful and worth living.
Each one of these scars was a valuable lesson for her, a lesson she’ll never forget. Each one of these scars taught her something important, and she wouldn’t be the same without them.
And she wouldn’t trade them for the world.
