Oxford dictionary defines it as \u201ca set of attitudes and ways of behaving stereotypically associated with or expected of men, regarded as having a negative impact on men and on society as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s talk things through in a simpler manner.<\/p>\n<p>You know how guys are terrible at paying other men compliments? Even when they do it, they\u2019ll add \u201c<strong>n\u00e3o homo<\/strong>\u201d without fail.<\/p>\n<p>What does this tell you? That every straight guy in the world is homophobic? I don\u2019t think so.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re just victims of a system. As a \u201c<strong>homem de verdade<\/strong>,\u201d a guy has to <a href=\"https:\/\/herway.net\/pt\/sinais-de-que-um-homem-esta-a-fingir-ser-heterossexual\/\">ser reto<\/a> e muito atra\u00eddo por mulheres.<\/p>\n<p>Tudo o resto torna-o menos homem e, por conseguinte, diminui o seu valor na sociedade.<\/p>\n<p>What about the practice of telling little boys to \u201c<strong>endurecer<\/strong>\u201d and to \u201c<strong>homem para cima<\/strong>\u201d or that they \u201c<strong>chorar como uma menina<\/strong>\u201d? Well, there you have it: examples of toxic masculinity right from the start.<\/p>\n<p>Basicamente, <strong>toxic masculinity teaches men that it\u2019s not okay to have feelings. Sounds bizarre, I know, but if you look around you, it\u2019s exactly what\u2019s going on.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Porque \u00e9 que isso \u00e9 importante?<\/h2>\n<p>First of all, this kind of rhetoric doesn\u2019t turn boys into strong men. Actually, it does the opposite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It turns them into human beings who are too weak to display their own feelings. It teaches them that repressing emotions is the only socially acceptable way to be a man and that they have to deal with their vulnerabilities the best way they can \u2013 by themselves, of course.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O que \u00e9 que temos como resultado?
