Sometimes, no matter how much of yourself you give to a relationship, you ultimately realize that some things just can\u2019t be fixed, regardless of how much we\u2019d like them to be.<\/p>\n

But there is always something to be learned from every situation. I\u2019ve been through my share of bad relationships and even worse break-ups but I didn\u2019t let myself dwell in misery for too long.<\/p>\n

In hindsight, I\u2019ve learned a lot about myself, relationships and compromises.<\/p>\n

Estas s\u00e3o algumas coisas que me apercebi que s\u00e3o a dura verdade<\/span><\/a> quando se trata de relacionamentos, por mais que eu tente negar isso \u00e0s vezes.<\/p>\n

1. Sometimes, love alone just isn\u2019t enough to keep the relationship going. <\/strong>You can love each other to the moon and back but if there are things that just aren\u2019t clicking in the relationship, love alone can\u2019t save you.<\/p>\n

God knows I\u2019ve tried and swallowed my pride more times than I can count but this is the painful lesson I\u2019ve learned in the process.<\/p>\n

2. Atualmente estar sozinho<\/a> e o medo de o fazer s\u00e3o duas coisas diferentes.  <\/strong>I feared being by myself so much that I jumped from one relationship to another but I\u2019ve come to realize that it\u2019s much healthier and better to be alone than to be with the wrong guy just because you fear loneliness.<\/p>\n

Quando est\u00e1 sozinho, a sua mente est\u00e1 limpa e pode pensar no que realmente quer e optar por n\u00e3o se contentar mais.<\/p>\n

3. If they constantly find excuses as to why they can\u2019t see you, it won\u2019t change. Ever. <\/strong>Aqueles que o querem ver acabar\u00e3o por encontrar tempo na sua agenda para o ver, mesmo que seja por um curto per\u00edodo de tempo.<\/p>\n

But those who are just wasting your time will constantly come up with new, lame excuses and you\u2019ll be perpetually hurt and disappointed.<\/p>\n

4. You\u2019re not responsible for anyone\u2019s happiness but your own. <\/strong><\/p>\n

You can contribute to his quality of life and help him as much as you can but it is not your responsibility to keep him happy at all times\u2014that is his job. The key to inner happiness is in your own hands and no one else\u2019s.<\/p>\n

If he keeps making you feel like you\u2019re failing to make him happy, leave, because he\u2019s not ready for a loving commitment, nor does he know what it entails.<\/p>\n

5. Don\u2019t ignore your gut feeling.  <\/strong>If you feel like this isn\u2019t right and that you need to get out, that\u2019s probably exactly what you should do.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t make excuses and never compromise your own sanity and happiness in order to not disappoint somebody who is not part of your relationship. You are the only one in control of who you keep in your life.<\/p>\n

6. Lack of fighting does not signify a healthy relationship. People who deeply care about each other will have fights every now and then, it\u2019s a sign you care about the relationship enough to fight for it.<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t have the will to fight with him, it\u2019s probably because you don\u2019t really care as much as you keep telling yourself.<\/p>\n

7. If you\u2019re the one he cheated with, he\u2019s going to repeat it with someone else. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Don\u2019t delude yourself that he\u2019s changed.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s okay for now but when the opportunity appears, he\u2019ll jump in bed with someone new, just like he did with you. It sucks but it\u2019s the harsh truth.<\/p>\n

8. Abuse of any kind is not love. Be it emotional, verbal or physical, it\u2019s wrong and you should never put up with it. Get out and find help.<\/p>\n

If he makes you report to him at all times and controls your every move under false pretenses of love and care, he\u2019s got issues and you should never put up with that. Your health and happiness always come first.<\/p>\n

9. No matter how wonderful of a guy he is, when you feel he\u2019s not right for you, it\u2019s okay to leave. There is nothing wrong with you for leaving a good guy if there is no love there.<\/p>\n

Love yourself enough to never settle. You\u2019ll find your one who will make the ground shake under your feet.<\/p>\n

10. Nunca assuma que o seu parceiro sabe como se sente. Diga-lhe. Partilhe os seus sentimentos. Nunca o deixe questionar o que sente por ele. Pode pensar que ele sabe que a ama, mas, por vezes, ele s\u00f3 precisa de ouvir essas palavras.<\/p>\n

If you keep your feelings inside, he may end up leaving, thinking you don\u2019t love him as much as he does you and it\u2019s going to hurt both of you. Learn to express your feelings for both your sakes.<\/p>\n
