Estas palavras tornam-se realidade sempre que duas pessoas que s\u00e3o certas uma para a outra se encontram no momento errado.<\/p>\n

I know a lot of people who don\u2019t believe in wrong timings. I probably wouldn\u2019t either if it hadn\u2019t happened to me.<\/p>\n

I was head over heels for somebody who just wasn\u2019t ready for a real relationship\u2014at least not the first time we dated.<\/p>\n

Quando o conheci, ele tinha acabado de sair de uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o de 4 anos, e todo o inferno se tinha soltado dentro dele. Era como se ele tivesse de compensar todos os anos em que se tinha sentido preso nessa rela\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

I knew that right from the start. I saw it, but I couldn\u2019t help myself…I fell madly in love with him, and it was like nothing I\u2019d ever experienced before.<\/p>\n

Os seus beijos ficaram gravados no meu corpo. O seu riso e todas as conversas que tivemos estimularam o meu c\u00e9rebro.<\/p>\n

I kept looking through his fingers. I kept seeing the good and ignoring the bad. I made excuses for him without any need to hear the actual words \u201cI\u2019m sorry\u201d from him.<\/p>\n

All my rules didn\u2019t count for much anymore. Before I knew it, I was in a casual relationship, hoping that one day, it would all change for the better.<\/p>\n

I thought that day was just around the corner…and I couldn\u2019t have been more wrong.<\/p>\n

He wasn\u2019t even close to being ready for a relationship\u2014at least not an exclusive one and that was all I wanted. Someone entirely mine.<\/p>\n

He left\u2026 <\/i><\/p>\n

He took my heart with him\u2026 <\/i><\/p>\n

My heart couldn\u2019t even break properly. It was just emptiness inside of me that he alone could fulfill. I didn\u2019t say a word.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t go after him. I didn\u2019t beg. I just kept repeating to myself the old phrase I heard somewhere:<\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t an expert in love, but all I knew is that it should never be begged for. It should never be forced, and if it doesn\u2019t flow naturally between two people, it is doomed. <\/b><\/p>\n

A sua partida foi como um duche frio que me acordou de um sonho. A dor era t\u00e3o real que me fez ver que, apesar do que sentia, merecia melhor e, mais importante, merecia um amor verdadeiro.<\/p>\n

Getting through all that pain was excruciating. I think I wasn\u2019t even aware of the true intensity of my feelings until I left.<\/p>\n

They overwhelmed me. My world came crashing down. I couldn\u2019t stop the tears. I couldn\u2019t contain my thoughts.<\/p>\n

There were so many times I wanted to pick up the phone and call him. There were so many days on which I wanted to \u201caccidentally\u201d bump into him in that small coffee shop he goes to before work.<\/p>\n

But the little voice echoing in my head, \u201c If you love someone, set them free.\u201c <\/i> foi t\u00e3o forte que me fez parar.<\/p>\n

There was nothing I wouldn\u2019t have done for him. There was nothing I wouldn\u2019t have done to keep us together, but I just couldn\u2019t transform him into someone who was ready to give me all of his love.<\/p>\n

You see…there is no way in which you can force someone to love you. You aren\u2019t supposed to beg for love. All you can do is give them the freedom to chose you. <\/b><\/p>\n

That was all I wanted. For him to chose me. For him to be sure about me…sure about us. So I set him free, always hoping deep down that he would find his way back.<\/p>\n

Tudo o que restava fazer agora era cuidar de mim mesmo. Remendar as minhas feridas. Preencher com amor-pr\u00f3prio o vazio dentro de mim onde outrora se encontrava o meu cora\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

That was exactly what I did. It took me a long while to stand on my own two feet again. I had to learn to smile again\u2014really smile, not fake smile with all the pain hidden underneath.<\/p>\n

Tive de fazer as pazes com o facto de ele j\u00e1 n\u00e3o fazer parte da minha vida.<\/p>\n

Quando segui em frente com a minha vida e a ideia de o ver deixou de me magoar, ele quis voltar a entrar na minha vida. <\/b><\/p>\n

I have to be honest here. My first instinct was to let him in, to pull him close and plead to the heavens that the same scenario wouldn\u2019t happen again.<\/p>\n

But I couldn\u2019t. I couldn\u2019t risk that numbness and emptiness coming back to me.<\/p>\n

It was a great while, a lot of his efforts, long texts and explanations, until I let him in again. He was ready now. He wasn\u2019t afraid.<\/p>\n

O inferno dentro dele tinha-se transformado em c\u00e9u. Ele precisava de se encontrar a si pr\u00f3prio antes de me voltar a encontrar. Acho que est\u00e1vamos ambos um pouco perdidos, ele mais do que eu, mas mesmo assim, o timing estava errado na altura, e agora \u00e9 perfeito.<\/p>\n

O tempo que pass\u00e1mos separados f\u00ea-lo amadurecer. F\u00ea-lo crescer e tornar-se algu\u00e9m que era emocionalmente est\u00e1vel <\/a> o que n\u00e3o era o caso anteriormente.<\/p>\n

He came back with a heartbeat I didn\u2019t recognize, with a tenderness I never got from him before, with the humility of a man who knows he has done something wrong.<\/b><\/p>\n

He knocked me of off my feet again, but he also brought the tranquility and safety I needed. I am happy now. Happier than I\u2019ve ever been because he just added to a life I had already created for myself.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t regret giving him a second chance. It was the best decision I ever made. And if you find yourself in a similar situation my advice is this:<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t rush into forgiving someone. Take your time, and see if they have really changed. Let them try to earn back your trust. If they don\u2019t succeed, don\u2019t take them back.<\/p>\n

Not everyone deserves a second chance. All stories are different, and sometimes timing isn\u2019t the major issue.<\/p>\n

I got lucky I guess. The reasons for two people splitting vary, and there are things that you just can\u2019t surpass.<\/p>\n

Mas quando olhei mais de perto para toda a nossa hist\u00f3ria, percebi que ele nunca me tinha mentido. Eu sempre soube que ele era uma confus\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Ele nunca me tinha prometido nada. Eu simplesmente apaixonei-me por ele, sem me importar com os sinais de aviso ou com as suas palavras.<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t\u2014or I didn\u2019t want to\u2014help myself from falling for him. Just like I couldn\u2019t ban him from my life when he came back.<\/p>\n

Acho que, por vezes, \u00e9 preciso uma segunda ronda para que o amor resulte.<\/p>\n

Him coming back made me believe in miracles because when you think about it, \u201c If you love someone, set them free.\u201c <\/i> \u00e9 como provocar o destino.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a test to see if the love you felt from someone is true and reciprocated.<\/p>\n
