Pensei que quando finalmente encontrasse a pessoa certa, o momento seria perfeito. Estarei no meu melhor. Teria a minha vida organizada e resolvida.<\/p>\n

Of course, that wasn\u2019t the case. Estava t\u00e3o perdido <\/a>and wandering without any purpose. If I could describe myself at that point in two words, they would be \u2018complete mess\u2019.<\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t looking for him. I wasn\u2019t looking for love in general. I felt like I wasn\u2019t ready for a relationship of any sort. But he came walking into my life unannounced.<\/p>\n

He came and he stayed like he always belonged there. I guess soulmates don\u2019t ask when is the right time\u2014they come when they are supposed to.<\/p>\n

O que aprendi sobre almas g\u00e9meas \u00e9 que uma alma g\u00e9mea \u00e9 tudo completamente oposto ao que eu pensava que seria.<\/p>\n

The only thing I expected, or better said \u2018wanted and hoped for\u2019, was that instant connection.<\/strong> Tivemos isso. Era algo que eu nunca tinha experimentado antes.<\/p>\n

Something so strong was drawing me to him and I couldn\u2019t explain it. But it didn\u2019t go as smoothly as I thought.<\/p>\n

Principalmente porque tinha medo do amor. Por isso, continuei a fugir dele. Mas ele estava determinado. He wasn\u2019t scared and he stayed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s all it took to move my walls\u2014somebody who stays. Everything else was opposite to my beliefs.<\/p>\n

Pensei que ele seria algu\u00e9m como eu<\/strong>. That we\u2019ll have similar interest. That we\u2019ll look at the world with the same mindset, through the same eyes.<\/p>\n

I was so off. We are complete opposites. But we fit perfectly together. We challenge each other. That\u2019s why it\u2019s never boring.<\/p>\n

He has completely different interests than I do but we support each other. But there is nothing more perfect for me than to listen to him talk about his day, his plans and dreams\u2014even though I don\u2019t know what the hell he is talking about.<\/p>\n

But he tells it with a spark in his eyes. He is so into it that it\u2019s really easy to hear him out. The best thing is he likes listening to me, too, when I go on and on about my stuff.<\/p>\n

Even the way he looks isn\u2019t like I imagined. Ele \u00e9 completamente oposto a todos os homens com quem namorei antes.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mas quando se tem uma liga\u00e7\u00e3o como esta, a apar\u00eancia \u00e9 a \u00faltima coisa em que se pensa. Agora, cada vez que o vejo, derreto-me porque encontro sempre algo mais para gostar nele, por dentro e por fora.<\/p>\n

Pensava que as almas g\u00e9meas nunca discutiam.<\/strong> I thought they understand one another on a deeper level. This is where I found out that it\u2019s not a fairytale\u2014 it\u2019s real life. Things get messy.<\/p>\n

We fight, and we argue and disagree. We have two very distinct personalities. In the end, we make up, because we always realize it\u2019s not that important.<\/p>\n

Conseguimos sempre encontrar-nos a meio caminho. Aprendemos sempre algo de novo.<\/p>\n

Pensei que encontrar uma alma g\u00e9mea iria resolver todos os meus outros problemas ou, pelo menos, faz\u00ea-los parecer mais pequenos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stupid, I know. But one can hope. Naturally, it didn\u2019t make my problems go away but it\u2019s easier to deal with them when you have someone who can at least hug you when you are having a bad day.<\/p>\n

A felicidade tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 melhor quando partilhada. Aprendi que tenho de ser feliz sozinha para ser ainda mais feliz com ele.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aprendi que posso ser uma pessoa melhor, n\u00e3o porque ele me obrigou a mudar ou a trabalhar mais ou a sonhar mais alto, mas porque ele me inspirou a faz\u00ea-lo.<\/p>\n

I thought soulmates don\u2019t have to work on their relationships.<\/strong> Que tudo corra bem.<\/strong> Mas nunca me esforcei tanto em nada na minha vida.<\/p>\n

We are learning from each other and about each other. We adapt. We grow together. It\u2019s not easy but it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n

Pensei que era preciso ser-se perfeito para estar com a sua alma g\u00e9mea<\/a>.<\/strong> Mas tudo o que tens de ser \u00e9 tu.<\/p>\n

Descobri que uma alma g\u00e9mea \u00e9 uma pessoa que nos faz sentir t\u00e3o confort\u00e1veis que somos ainda mais n\u00f3s pr\u00f3prios quando estamos com ela do que sozinhos.<\/p>\n

Tudo o que eu pensava, pensava mal. Mas acabou por ser muito melhor do que alguma vez imaginei.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
