I really tried to make it work but then I realized that relationships are made of two; two people who work on the same goals and care for each other\u2019s needs. In this case, I was the only one who cared enough.<\/p>\n

Fizeste-me pensar que estava a fazer algo errado o tempo todo. Fizeste-me sentir como se me faltasse algo que magicamente te fizesse mais feliz. Pensei que o problema era eu.<\/b><\/p>\n

I was so hard on myself and tried to be better, to be prettier, to be more accommodating… All that for nothing because at the end of the day, you only cared about yourself.<\/p>\n

At one point, I realized that the way we interacted with each other wasn\u2019t healthy. A forma como me trataste <\/b>wasn\u2019t what I deserved<\/b><\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

You almost never showed any effort unless you got scared that you\u2019d lose me and the only reason you were afraid of losing me was because you knew you\u2019d lose all the care and comfort I kept on giving you throughout the years we spent together. <\/p>\n

Cansei-me de me sentir inadequada, de sentir que havia sempre algo melhor e mais conveniente do que eu. Perdi toda a minha auto-confian\u00e7a no processo de tentar fazer-nos funcionar.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s safe to say it wasn\u2019t worth it.<\/p>\n

Cansei-me de me conter porque desacreditou tudo o que eu disse e fez com que fosse sobre si.<\/b> I didn\u2019t want to live in fear of what my significant other would say if I voiced my opinion.<\/p>\n

Cansei-me de estar triste porque n\u00e3o demonstravas interesse genu\u00edno em nada que me interessasse. I didn\u2019t want to beg for your love because that\u2019s not real love.<\/b><\/p>\n

Amor verdadeiro<\/b><\/a> offers itself without being asked. Real love recognizes when someone\u2019s in need.<\/b><\/p>\n

Esperava que mudasses, que algo acontecesse por magia, mas estava a ser muito irrealista.<\/p>\n

People like you don\u2019t want to change.<\/p>\n

They just want to find someone who will make them feel good about themselves so they don\u2019t have to put in the work, someone who will nod their head to everything they say and never challenge them because that\u2019s the easier way.<\/p>\n

Era suposto seres o meu lugar seguro, mas acabaste por ser um fardo e esta \u00e9 a primeira vez que digo isto sem me sentir culpada.<\/b><\/p>\n

Tive de desistir de ti para voltar a ser eu pr\u00f3prio.<\/b><\/p>\n

Finalmente senti-me livre. No in\u00edcio, estava confusa e senti-me perdida, mas assim que me permiti desfrutar da vida sem pensar em ti, comecei a sentir-me mais feliz e satisfeita com a minha vida.<\/p>\n

Naquele momento, todas as minhas preocupa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre recome\u00e7ar a minha vida desapareceram. Sabia que estava a fazer a coisa certa e continuo a faz\u00ea-la at\u00e9 hoje.<\/p>\n

Estou t\u00e3o grata por ter tido a for\u00e7a para ouvir aquela vozinha dentro de mim que me disse que eu merecia mais e me levou a fazer o que fiz.<\/p>\n
