Inside The Mind Of A Girl Who Has Never Been On A Date

Inside The Mind Of A Girl Who Has Never Been On A Date

She’s pretty. She’s smart. She’s funny. There’s nothing wrong with her. She’s 20 years old and she has never been invited on a date. But has she ever cried about it? Not a chance! For her, it’s a blessing.

All these years she’s been single, she had all the time in the world to really get to know herself. She loves spending time alone because she’s very proud of the person she has become. Of course, she gets lonely sometimes; it’s normal but she deals with it (probably with a bucket of ice cream). There are many lessons she has learned during the past 20 years and here are some of them:

1. Before you choose to get to know someone, make sure you know yourself first

You cannot understand someone’s mind if you don’t understand your own. You can easily get lost in the process of getting to know him without realizing whether you like his characteristics or not because you haven’t defined what you like and look for yet.

2. You are the only person you can rely on

Now, it’s not that everyone else is bad… there are some cool people on this planet. But the point is: you are the only person you cannot escape from. You are by your side 24/7. You have to be aware of that and take care of who you are. It is a must for you to always be there for yourself and learn how to give yourself a pat on the back.

3. You don’t NEED company

Sure, human beings are made to socialize with one another. But do we have to? No, we don’t. You don’t need anyone. It’s great if you have someone to go with you to that movie you’ve been dying to see but if you don’t, it’s not the end of the world—go by yourself.

4. Life is a movie to some and an Indian soap opera to others

You are tired of waiting to fall in love? You really want someone to understand you and be there for you all the time? Your best friend is so happy with her boyfriend and their life is just like a young American romance? At the same time, you are frustrated that your life is a never-ending game of waiting. You don’t see how your life is better than theirs? First of all, it’s a young romance—they’re going to break up real soon.

Second of all, they probably have irrational fights which you don’t hear. Thirdly, they’re not even going to stay friends. The only thing your friend could gain from that relationship is premature gray hairs. Now tell me, do you really, really want to deal with a young person drama that will end ASAP? I didn’t think so.

5. Cinderella didn’t cry

Once upon a time, there was a princess who would cry all day long because she was unloved. Oh wait, that doesn’t sound familiar. You know why? Because there’s no story that starts this way! None of the princesses wanted a prince or cried for him. They wanted to be themselves: Cinderella wanted to have fun and freedom, Snow White the same, Belle to set her father free, and Sleeping Beauty, well, I guess she only wanted to be awake. The point is: you crying over something won’t make anything different.
This brings us to the most important lesson of them all:

6. Believe in destiny

There is not much to say here except if something is meant for you, if you want it so badly and you are patient enough, it will come to you and there won’t be any obstacles on its way. You just have to wait, see and believe.
