Como lidar com o facto de a sua melhor amiga ser amiga do seu ex

Há um ano, acabei com o meu namorado que me magoou muito.

Ele traiu-me e humilhou-me à frente de todos os nossos amigos porque trouxe a sua nova amante a um café onde estávamos todos. 

He told me right there that he was now seeing her. He didn’t even care. Yup, he was that bad. 

I cut him off that day. He could be lying dead next to me and I wouldn’t care less for him.

Mas a minha melhor amiga, que é a melhor e mais simpática pessoa de sempre, continua a falar com ele e com a sua nova namorada.

Na verdade, passaram mais tempo juntos logo após o sucedido.

The worst part was that due to my job, I had to move to another city where I was alone and couldn’t “control” who was hanging out with whom, so they spent the entire summer having a great time while I was crying myself to sleep.

Tentei explicar à minha amiga que aquilo que ela estava a fazer não estava certo e que eu sabia que ela só o estava a fazer porque era uma boa pessoa e tinha pena de quem quer que fosse. 

Com o passar do tempo, a sua amizade enfraqueceu.

I thought that this was because of me, but it turned out it was because of his new girlfriend. My friend didn’t like her company.

Para quem está a lidar com este problema, tenho algumas sugestões:

1. Por muito simpática que a sua amiga seja e por muito forte que seja a amizade dela com o seu ex, se ele lhe tiver feito algo semelhante e ela não estiver lá a gritar com ele, mas a sorrir como uma menina estúpida, corte-lhe a palavra.

I don’t mean cut her off for good, but at least for some time until she realizes what’s right and what’s wrong.

2. Play it cool. Don’t freak out and try to point out something to her if it seems like you are talking to a wall.

Be a lady and wait. Everything will come out eventually; everyone’s personality and deeds will show up in the end.

3. Se ela é sua boa amiga e uma boa pessoa, e se ele é como é, então ela acabará por perceber isso e voltará para si e eliminá-lo-á da sua vida.

Acredita, aconteceu-me.

Because at the end, everyone’s intentions become clear and everyone shows their actual face.
