Quando se trata de encontros modernosOs últimos textos são como as últimas palavras que partilhamos com o nosso ex quando tudo já se desmoronou.

Exes are usually left without a reply and maybe it’s better that way—there is not much you can say to soothe a broken heart.

People are sometimes even unaware that their last text is actually their last because they didn’t anticipate that their ex will pull a disappearing act.

Mesmo que o seu bom senso lhes diga para não enviarem nada, fazem-no na mesma. É este o aspeto de alguns desses textos e a razão pela qual os enviaram em primeiro lugar:

“ Stop texting me!”

Isto foi logo depois de ter bloqueado o meu ex no meu telemóvel e em todas as minhas contas nas redes sociais.

Ele traiu-me e estava constantemente a enviar mensagens de texto ou a telefonar para dizer que estava arrependido, que tinha sido um erro, uma coisa única, um deslize.

Era um relação à distância e ele veio visitar-me à nova cidade onde eu estava a viver. Passámos 7 dias perfeitos juntos.

Pouco tempo depois, a minha amiga enviou-me uma fotografia dele e da ex a beijarem-se na discoteca, mesmo ao lado dela. Admito que me arrependi dessa mensagem, mas depois de ele me ter enviado uma mensagem a explicar que devia ter sido um engano, provou que não passava de um sacana mentiroso e manipulador. Depois disso, nunca mais respondi a nenhuma das mensagens que ele enviou. Estou farta de ouvir mentiras.

Foi uma mensagem de texto enviada às 3 da manhã, bêbedo, à minha ex-namorada. Tínhamos acabado um ano antes e por uma boa razão, por isso era totalmente desnecessário enviar aquela mensagem.

He kept on sending texts after that but it was pointless. I never replied. FYI—I am happy now, and I couldn’t care less if he knows it or not.

Ela era obsessivamente ciumenta durante todo o tempo em que estivemos juntos. Depois de acabarmos, ela assediou todas as minhas amigas, acusando-as de dormirem comigo.

Apareceu no meu trabalho e à porta de casa. Telefonava-me sem parar e mandava-me mensagens sem sentido, apesar de eu nunca lhe responder.

This was after a 4 am call I didn’t answer. I blocked her everywhere. She completely lost it.
