Eu sei que pensas que és suficientemente forte para o curar. Sei que pensas que tens energia suficiente para lutar.

Está a agarrar-se a algo que tinha e que já não existe. Está a agarrar-se à imagem do homem que ele costumava ser.

Espera poder voltar ao que era antes, que ele volte a ser o mesmo homem gentil e carinhoso que era antes. Mas esse homem já não está lá. Está agora com alguém que já não reconhece.

Ele tornou-se distante. Desinteressado. Quase nunca tem tempo para si e, mesmo quando tem, é apenas uma sombra do homem que outrora conheceu.

Quando fala com ele, está sempre a fazer promessas que nunca cumpre. Ele precisa de tempo para voltar a pôr a sua vida nos eixos.

He is going through a rough patch right now and that’s why he treats you poorly. He will be o homem que mereces se lhe deres um pouco de tempo.

But when you look at it, you have been waiting for forever and nothing has changed. You shouldn’t be the one paying the high price for his problems.

You shouldn’t suffer because he is miserable. You bend over backward to please him but it’s never enough.

Ele está tão habituado ao seu papel de vítima que, nesta altura, na vossa relação, ele é sempre mal interpretado e a culpa é sempre sua.

Mas tu continuas a agarrar-te. Continuas a dar-lhe pedaços de ti só para ele se sentir melhor.

You are putting his happiness before your own. What you don’t realize is that you can’t fix somebody who doesn’t want to be saved.

E se ficares e tentares consertá-lo, nada te cortará tão profundamente como esses pedaços dele. Nada te vai magoar mais.

His brokenness and his dissatisfaction with his life don’t have anything to do with you, even if he makes you feel like that sometimes. You have this feeling that it’s your responsibility to help him but you can’t help a hopeless case.

You can’t do his job for him. Change comes only to those who welcome it into their lives. And he is clearly used to things being the way they are.

A única coisa que deve fazer é amá-lo até que ele se cure. That’s what people in normal and healthy relationships do.

They support each other and they stay through thick and thin. That’s why you shouldn’t look at his problems like they are your own.

You shouldn’t fight battles that are not yours. You shouldn’t let him use you in that way.

Don’t you realize that somebody else in his shoes would thank God he has you? To have somebody who cares so much.

Somebody supportive. Somebody who stays no matter what. But he is not that somebody. He is taking your efforts for granted and he doesn’t appreciate you nearly as much as he should.

Tentar consertá-lo, tentar consertá-los aos dois, está provavelmente a piorar as coisas. Estão apenas a mover-se em círculos de algo pouco saudável, de algo unilateral e totalmente co-dependente.

Negligenciou-se a si própria. Pôs as necessidades dele à frente das suas e esqueceu-se que merece ser amada com a mesma intensidade.

Mereces alguém que esteja lá para ti tanto quanto tu estás para ele. Alguém que esteja ao teu lado quando estiveres a passar por um momento difícil.

Alguém com quem partilhar o riso e as vitórias. Alguém que te deixe entrar por inteiro.

Someone who will know how to give as much as he takes. You don’t have that now.

Se ficares e lutares mais um pouco, isso só te vai destruir emocionalmente. Ele vai tirar-lhe tanto que não terá nada para dar a si própria.

You are probably already at your limit. His state of mind doesn’t give him the right to treat you badly.

You shouldn’t put up with everything just because you love so deeply.

Love shouldn’t consist only of sacrifice. Love should be something you are both involved in, something mutual.

Deve ser capaz de ver os seus esforços, o seu investimento, a sua determinação em tornar as coisas melhores para ambos. If you are the only one trying, the only one fixing things, it is not love, it’s torture.

Don’t stay somewhere where you are not appreciated. Don’t be afraid to turn over a new leaf in a completely new book.

You deserve to be somebody’s everything. You deserve to be seen, listened to, and cared for. Merece ser tratado com respeito.

Mereces o calor que uma relação satisfatória traz. Mereces ser amado.

Don’t waste away your days trying to fix someone or something that is broken beyond repair. You will only end up hurting yourself.
