But she isn’t doing it for your sake. No, the only person she is doing it for is herself.

Quando deixou esta rapariga para trás, deixou também toda a sua negatividade para trás. Foi como se transferisses toda a tua toxicidade e pessimismo para ela.

After you left, anger and resentment started to consume her completely. She was pissed and furious at you for everything you’d done.

Tudo o que ela conseguia pensar eram as formas de vingar-me de ti porque pensava que esta era a única forma de recuperar a sua paz.

Ela queria vingar-se de ti e queria que sentisses o que ela sentia, porque pensava que só assim poderia curar o seu coração partido e o seu ego partido.

But then, it hit her. She had become a prisoner of her hatred toward you. And you still had power over her, even though you were gone. You were still a huge part of her life, even though you weren’t physically present in it.

She realized that she had become everything she swore she’d never be. Her hatred and anger made her become a bitter, negative and toxic person. Her negative emotions caged her and didn’t let her be free.

She realized that she was actually holding on to you as long as she was holding grudges. And that is why she finally let you go, together with all the bitterness and pessimism you’d left behind.

She decided it was time for her to forgive you because you didn’t deserve to still have an impact on her. You weren’t that important for her to dedicate her time or energy to hating you.

Ela perdoou-te porque finalmente aceitou tudo o que se tinha passado. Aceitou que não havia nada que ela pudesse fazer para o tornar diferente e que as coisas tinham de ser como eram.

Ela decidiu que era altura de aceitar as desculpas que nunca recebeu porque era a única coisa que a libertaria. Porque era a única maneira de ela seguir em frente com a sua vida e de tu desapareceres verdadeiramente dela.

But that doesn’t mean that her forgiveness is an invitation back into her life. Because it is anything but that.

Yes, she forgave you but she still doesn’t want anything to do with you.

The truth is that she forgave you but she definitely didn’t forget about everything you did to her. By forgiving you, she is letting go of you but it doesn’t mean that she is approving your actions or sending you the message that you didn’t do anything wrong.

Só porque ela tem um coração bondoso e porque ela é clemente, it doesn’t mean she is stupid. It doesn’t mean that she doesn’t see you for who you really are and it doesn’t mean she thinks of you in any better way than she did before.

It doesn’t mean that she hasn’t learned her lesson and it definitely doesn’t mean she is ready to repeat her mistakes.

By forgiving you, she isn’t giving you another chance to screw her up once more or to break her heart again. She isn’t giving you a green light or an opportunity to finish her off.

Instead, she is giving herself another chance to rise from the ashes you’ve put her in. She is giving herself a chance to completely move on from you and from all the pain you’ve made her experience.
