If you’ve been single for some time, you are probably familiar with all of those questions about your single status and people pushing you to start dating again because “no one should be alone”. But, these people don’t understand that being alone doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re lonely or that you should be.

Lamentablemente, hay miles de relaciones tóxicas en las que las personas fingen ser felices con sus parejas y por alguna razón no son capaces de seguir adelante. La razón más frecuente es tener miedo a quedarse solo.

Pero.., estar solo is better than being in a relationship with just anyone. Being alone is better than being in a relationship with someone whose heart doesn’t match yours. Being alone is actually beautiful!

Here’s the thing with love. When you love someone with all of your body and heart, no one can guarantee you that they will love you back. The amount of your love for another human being is always at risk of not being reciprocated, and not matter what you did and how hard you pushed, you will never succeed in making them fall in love with you if their heart doesn’t match yours.

You shouldn’t be afraid of being alone. You shouldn’t be afraid of waiting for love because love is the most powerful force in the universe. It can lift your spirits up within seconds and change the way your heart beats into a more beautiful rhythm.

You shouldn’t settle for just anything, and you shouldn’t be afraid of waiting on what you really deserve. You don’t deserve tears, a broken heart or selfishness, and that is why it is better to be alone and in a genuine relationship with yourself than with someone whose heart is incapable of treating you the way you deserve.

Being alone doesn’t mean being unhappy. Being unhappy means being with someone you weren’t meant to be with and ignoring all of the red flags which show you that you are not in a relationship which is right for you. Being alone means celebrating and enjoying your time until you find the right one.
