É um tipo de mecanismo de auto-defesa popular entre narcisistas e indivíduos controladores.
Em vez de aceitarem as consequências das suas próprias acções e de lidarem com os seus sentimentos, optam por culpar os outros.
O desejo de escapar à responsabilidade pelos problemas transforma-os em culpados. Utilizam linguagem específica e tácticas sujas para convencer a vítima de que a culpa é sua.

Porque é que os narcisistas e as pessoas controladoras têm tendência para transferir a culpa?
Esta é, provavelmente, a primeira pergunta que nos vem à cabeça quando pensamos em pessoas que transferem a culpa e nas suas tácticas sujas. Porque é que o fazem? Será que pensam que não se vai dar por isso?
Fazem-no por muitas razões e as mais comuns são as seguintes:
Para evitar assumir a responsabilidade pelas suas palavras e acções

Estão conscientes de todas as coisas ofensivas que disseram/fizeram à vítima e, ao culpá-la, estão a evitar assumir toda a responsabilidade por isso.
Utilizam frases como: You make me really mad. I would never have done it if you hadn’t… Com palavras como estas, obrigam a vítima a acreditar que o que aconteceu é culpa sua.
E, na maioria dos casos, a vítima começa a acreditar que isso é verdade. A culpabilização da vítima tem este efeito nas pessoas.
They start thinking that everything is their fault and that they need to change themselves but in reality, the only problem is the abuser’s behavior.
That is why the victims often become more self-aware and worried about their next move. They start walking on eggshells, being anxious about repeating the same “mistake” and pissing off the abuser.
Para manter/estabelecer o domínio

Todos os abusadores sabem que a forma mais fácil de manter ou estabelecer o domínio sobre alguém é fazendo-o sentir-se menos digno e privando-o da sua auto-confiança.
Ao culparem os outros, estão a enviar-lhes uma mensagem: Nunca serás suficientemente bom, por mais que te esforces.
Por isso, as vítimas convencem-se de que nunca serão suficientemente boas e começam a pensar que merecem ser tratadas assim ou, melhor dizendo, maltratadas.
E é assim que um agressor consegue estabelecer e manter o domínio sobre a outra pessoa. Estas relações tóxicas podem durar anos sem que a vítima saiba exatamente o que se passa.

A transferência de culpas é uma tática emocionalmente abusiva que funciona com base no princípio de que o agressor conhece todas as suas fraquezas e utiliza-as contra si.
Visam as suas inseguranças, a sua tendência para agradar aos outros e a sua mentalidade geral.

Their goal is to CONVINCE you that you’re the one to blame.

Most victims were emotionally neglected during childhood thus experiencing a lack of love, support, and protection. That is why they don’t see all those warning signs as such but as something that is normal.

This is probably one of the most popular narcissistic techniques. From my friends’ recent experiences, I can see that it is still trending. This abusive technique works like this:
Let’s say that they hurt you one way or another and you tell them how you are feeling about it. Instead of accepting it and sympathizing, an abuser would laugh at you and belittle your feelings.

Histórias de pena

The truth is that many abusers grew up in an unstable environment where their emotional needs weren’t met and they were neglected. That’s their favorite tool for making you feel sorry for them.
Se a pessoa a magoar e você perguntar como se sente em relação a isso, ela diz algo sobre a sua infância traumática, um ex abusivo ou algo semelhante. Fazem-no apenas para justificar as suas acções e fazer com que simpatize com elas.

They don’t focus on what’s being discussed but rather on the way you’re discussing it with them.
