I once got a message from a guy who asked me if I believed in aliens. He didn’t even say hi or anything, just that. I thought it was funny and a joke so I responded. Turns out, he really believes in aliens and even tried to convince me they’re real!
So yeah, I bet we all got some weird message at least once. One person made a post on Reddit and wanted to find out what were the absolute weirdest messages people got on dating apps. And let’s just say the responses didn’t disappoint!

Damn, imagine this is the first message you got. I’m not sure if I would be offended or relate to them.
Dating apps can suck all life out of you so I kind of understand. After endless swiping right and left, you are happy if you find someone even half decent. However, this might be a deal breaker for some.
2. Didn’t let jail stop her from finding love
This is genuinely funny! Or creepy? I don’t know. I mean, at least she was honest. I bet some people would just lie they’re busy during weekends so they could get some action.
But yeah, being in jail and still wanting to find her true love is what I call commitment! She doesn’t want to waste any time, that’s for sure!
3. Not really an animal lover
I don’t know about her, but for me, this would be the end of the conversation. If you don’t like dogs then I can’t see our future together!
I’m honestly interested in what he thought this would lead to and what did he expect her to respond to that? “Okay, I’ll just leave him at the adoption center, problem solved!” She clearly won’t get rid of her dog because of him, so why would he even message her in the first place?
4. Dinner date with a twist
He must have laughed so hard when he read this! Men love women who have a sense of humor so I get why guys loved this message.
Some even said he should marry her! I wonder what was his response like and if he matched her energy. This would be a great and funny story to tell if they ended up together!
5. Conspiracy theorist
This lowkey reminds me of the question about aliens I got. You always think these people are being funny and want to make you laugh, but when you realize they are serious, you always end up shocked.
I mean, come on, do people really believe in this stuff? I just can’t wrap my head around it! You can definitely never know what to expect from other people while online dating.
6. Unique or weird compliment?
If this is the most recent weird message she got, it probably isn’t the only one that got her confused. I just know someone gave this guy a tip to be very specific about his compliments so women think he pays attention to details about them.
He understood it too literally and took it to another level! Or maybe he just really likes women with a long torso. We’ll never know.
7. Straight to the point!
I’m not sure this is a great way to open a conversation unless you want to scare the guy away. I guess she doesn’t want to waste her time so she asked the important question right away!
Imagine if we all communicated in the same way. Although it sounds awkward, I bet we would avoid so many heartbreaks in case we realize too late that someone is not a good fit.

Looks like opening a conversation with a weird question is not as terrible an idea as you might assume. Could be worth trying, what do you think?
