Le relazioni finiscono. Le persone si allontanano l'una dall'altra. Si disinnamorano o si stancano dell'altra persona. Tutto questo fa parte della vita.
E lei lo capisce. Capisce che a un certo punto hai smesso di amarla. O forse hai non l'ho mai amata abbastanza ma ti ci sono voluti anni per capirlo?

This girl didn’t deserve you abandoning her when she needed you the most. She didn’t deserve to waste years on you when you knew all along that you could never be the man she deserved to have by her side.
She didn’t deserve you cheating on her or lying to her. And she certainly didn’t deserve you emotionally scarring her for life.
She didn’t deserve you convincing her that she wasn’t meant to be loved and losing all faith and trust in everyone around her. She didn’t deserve you spiritually killing her or making her doubt herself and her worth.
Sapete bene che questa ragazza vi ha dato tutto quello che aveva, senza chiedere nulla in cambio. Sapete che portava il suo cuore sulla manica e che vi amava come nessun altro nella vostra vita potrà mai fare.
Sapete che era pronta a smuovere le montagne per il vostro bene, mentre voi non avete mai mosso un dito per lei. Che è stata lei a fare tutti gli sforzi e i sacrifici. L'unica che ha lottato per questa relazione, mentre tu eri pronto a rinunciarvi così facilmente.
E questo è il modo in cui l'hai ripagata? Da allontanarsi senza dire una parola? Non dandole una chiusura?
È stato così che l'hai ringraziata per tutte le cose buone che ha fatto per te? Lasciandola a chiedersi cosa sia andato storto e cosa avrebbe potuto fare per evitare che tu te ne andassi?
Era così che le dimostravi la tua gratitudine per tutto quello che ti aveva dato? Facendole passare tutte queste sofferenze? Tenendola sveglia di notte, pensando a tutto il male che le hai causato?
Couldn’t you have been the bigger person and showed her some more respect? Couldn’t you at least have acted like you appreciated all of her love even if you stopped feeling it back? Couldn’t you have chosen to be a mature man instead of being a selfish asshole?
Ma indovinate un po'? Si rialzerà da questo dolore. E quando questo accadrà e quando finalmente vi vedrà per quello che siete veramente, non potrete più tornare indietro.
She will pick up the pieces of her crushed heart and everything you did will just make her stronger. All the pain you made her go through will empower her to become the best possible version of herself. And that is when she’ll realize that you breaking her heart was actually the best thing that could have ever happened to her.
So apparently, even though you are the one who left, she is the one who won. And you know why? Because she will be happy again and you’ll forever remain the same piece of shit you’ve always been.
