1. First of all, I’m not going to go on a hunt.
I’m not going to obsess about whether or not he’s coming. Is he around the corner?
How long will it take before I get to meet him? Are days or years keeping me apart from him?
Who cares! It’s true what they say. Your forever person will elegantly walk into your life the moment you stop trying to find him. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
2. I’ve decided to embrace my single life and make the most of it!
I’m going to party and do whatever the hell I want because there is no going back.
I don’t want to end up old and bitter because I didn’t try everything I wanted while I was young.
Being single is awesome. I’m going to enjoy it while I can.
3. I’m going to hang out with myself for a while.
The best company I can sometimes get is myself. I’m going to treat myself to a dinner and a movie, I’m going to go for a stroll in the woods or on the beach.
I’m going to walk in the pouring rain. I’m going to sing in the shower, even though I’m tone-deaf. I want to make my life interesting and fun to live.
4. I’ve committed to love myself more.
I’ve always wondered why there is no luck in my love life. I’ve always wondered how I manage to sooner or later screw everything up. Well, I got the answer to that one, alright!
I never truly loved myself. I was never truly satisfied with myself, my appearance, and my overall impression that others have of me.
What others think was always so important that I lost my true self in trying to appeal to everyone else.
Fuck that! Now I know I’m interesting just the way I am. Now I understand that I have to love myself for who I am in order to ever be able to love someone else.
5. I’ve chosen to give true love a chance.
I was always too skeptic about the existence of true love.
I never really believed that something like that could ever happen to me, or to anyone else. I mean, it’s the love you see in movies; it’s fake and too perfect.
That was before, but now I realized that true love can exist if you believe in it.
Why would it be so ridiculous to assume that there is a person that will fit me in almost every possible way? Someone who will enjoy spending time with me, someone I will be able to make happy?
6. I’m going to build myself to become the person I always wanted to be.
This time there’ll be no distractions. Nothing will keep me from becoming who I want to be.
I’m going to meditate and devote a lot more time to myself than I’ve done thus far.
I’m going to set up goals and complete each and every one of them. I’m going to challenge myself constantly and I’m never going to give up!
7. I’m going to take responsibility for my life.
My life is a creation on the move. Every day I’m creating something new. Every day is different from the day before.
And I’m responsible for everything that happens because I’m the creator of my future. I call all the shots.
8. I’ve decided to do things I’ve never done before.
There is no point living life if you don’t dare to do things you’ve never done before, maybe because you’re scared and you haven’t had the courage to do anything to bring some excitement to your life.
Well, I decided to dare life and take on all the challenges it throws at me – as long as they are within reason of common sense. That’s where I draw the line.
9. I’m going to ignore the ugly feeling of jealousy.
Well, fuck it! I AM a human being after all. I can’t just switch off my feelings and pretend they aren’t there.
You see, I too have friends who have already found their forever person and, I must admit, that part of me is kind of jealous.
Yes, a bit of jealousy hasn’t hurt anyone, but I’m going to learn to control that feeling when it rears its ugly head– it’s only making me feel worse.
10. I’m not going to rush anywhere with my life.
I’m going to enjoy one day at a time – not wait anxiously for the next period of my life to begin.
Life is now, at this moment, and I’m going to enjoy it! I don’t want to wake up one day and regret not living the life the way I wanted when I still could.
11. I’ve resolved to take care of my mental health.
After all this time, I realized that my mental state is worth my time.
I’ve realized that I need to take care of myself and prepare myself for life’s challenges. If a battle starts and I’m not ready, I’m going down from the first bullet.
So, from now on, I put myself as first priority and my biggest job is to become the best version of myself I can be.
12. I’m going to work on my relationships with other people.
I want to become more approachable. I want to help more people and create great contacts with every person I meet. So when I meet the person of my dreams, he’ll fall in love right that second, as will I.
