Whenever I have a crush on someone, my brain turns into this:

  • Oh no, he saw me staring at him. My life is officially over.
  • I’ve got NOTHING to wear.
  • How do I get rid of those butterflies in my stomach??
  • OMG, I added/followed him on social media. Now he probably thinks that I like him.
  • I need to get a new haircut.
  • Should I text him? But, what if he doesn’t text me back??

If you add being unable to fall asleep because you can’t stop thinking about them and every single thing reminding you of them to the equation, there you have it: A recipe for losing your mind.

Does any of this sound familiar to you? I know it does, so stop lying yourself! Your crush is the first thing you think about in the morning and the last thing you think about before you go to sleep.

They are responsible for so many sleepless nights, overthinking, and daydreaming (especially daydreaming!).

If you only knew a magic recipe on how to make your crush fall for you, you would learn it by heart. If only…

Now, let’s be honest. There are no magic recipes or remedies for those intense feelings of infatuation. I’m sorry, but you have to find a way to live with it (for the time being).

Still, there are some things you can do to catch their attention and win their heart. There are some things you can do to show your crush what an interesting and amazing person you are!

If you want to get your crush to like you back, then make sure to IMPRESS them!

If you’re a girl, the first thing that comes to your mind when someone mentions the word IMPRESS is physical appearance, right?

You think of so many different combinations of outfits that could potentially catch his attention, so many different shades of lipstick, nail polish, you name it. (I won’t even mention hair because that would be another article in itself).

Don’t get me wrong. Paying attention to your physical appearance is a great way to impress your crush, but only temporarily.

When he sees you in the perfect outfit, with 3-hours-of-styling perfect hair, and all the other perfect things on you, your crush will think to themself: DAMN, this girl looks really good.

After that, he will move on with his life as if nothing happened.

If you’re a guy, the first thing that comes to your mind when someone mentions the word IMPRESS is masculinity, strength, and skills, right?

You think of hitting the gym immediately to pump those muscles or taking a picture in front of a mirror in a T-shirt that flatters those biceps, triceps, and almighty abs so that you can post it on social media while praying to God that the girl of your dreams, a.k.a., your CRUSH will see it! (I won’t even mention cars because that would be another story in itself.)

Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with your desire to accentuate your physique and impress your crush, but this is what she will think to herself: DAMN, this guy looks really good.

After that, she’ll move on with her life as if nothing happened.

What I’m trying to say is that physical appearance makes a temporary impression, but your personality is what keeps someone’s attention (and eventually wins their heart)!

Regardless if you’re a guy or a girl, if you want to win your crush like a boss, you need to impress them with your way of thinking, thoughtful actions, and unique mindset.

In other words: If you want to win their attention, you need to be different from the rest of the guys and girls out there.

So, how do you show someone that you’re special and different from others? Easy:

a) You don’t pretend to be something you’re not.

b) You accentuate things you’re good at.

c) You don’t use cheesy/generic pick up lines (reserved for guys).

d) You don’t act desperate (I’m talking about stalking them and similar).

Forget about all those articles that tell you that playing hard to get is the best way to win your crush.

Instead of playing hard to get, I would suggest playing flirty games with your crush (assuming that you have gathered the courage and contacted them in person or via social networks).

Also, pay attention to WHAT you’re talking about rather than HOW MUCH you’re talking to them. Quality over quantity (always remember that).

So, let’s say that you text or you stumble upon your crush in real life. What would you text/say to them? Think about it for a few seconds as I’m resting my hands from typing.

Okay, given that I cannot know your answer, I’ll just ask you one important question: Is there any intent in what you want to say/text to them?

Let me simplify. Do you want to ask them questions only for the sake of asking or is there an intention behind your questions and answers? If there isn’t, well, there should be.

There are so many interesting things to talk about with your crush and win them over like childhood, pets, etc., and those things need to have an intention (something you want to find out about them and similar), and they also need to keep the conversation going.

And, you need to LISTEN to them carefully. By listening, you’ll find so many follow-up questions, which will help you deepen the conversation and make it even more interesting.

If you want to get your crush to like you back, then make sure to help them OPEN up to you!

Here’s the thing with crushes. Chances are high that your crush also has a crush on you, but they won’t admit it to you. You both keep living in an illusion and in your dreamy world full of fantasies and what ifs.

Well, it’s high time you wake up from daydreaming! It’s time to do something about your feelings that are making your life so complicated.

I’ll share with you one little secret: If you help your crush open up to you, then half of your job is done!

The truth is, we all love talking about ourselves (those who do not agree with me on this one are only fooling themselves).

By asking meaningful questions, we help others open up to us, which results in making them feel more comfortable around us and connected with us.

The math is simple here. If your crush feels comfortable around you and connected with you, then they will want to spend more time with you (only to talk about themselves if not for anything else).

I have both positive and negative experiences regarding my crush endeavors. Some of them were impossible to decipher and open up no matter how hard I tried while others were an open book.

It all depends on the type of their personality, so keep that one in mind. Nevertheless, both introverts and extroverts like answering thoughtful questions, a.k.a., questions that are not BORING or GENERIC.

So, here are some interesting questions to ask your crush and help them open up to you:

  • If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?
  • What was the first thing that came to your mind when you first saw me?
  • If you were an animal, what would you choose to be? (Imagine they reply: You. That would be sarcastically epic.)
  • Do you have any phobias?
  • What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
  • What do you hate most about people?

And, for the love of God, show that CONFIDENCE!

If there’s something I have learned in my humble life, it’s the fact that you could be the prettiest, handsomest, or whatever-est person in the world, but you will not succeed in winning your crush if you don’t show some confidence.

That includes feeling comfortable in your own skin, not giving a damn about what others think of you, and accepting yourself for who you are with all those quirks and flaws.

The more you are in love with yourself, the more you’ll attract others.

In the end, it’s all about the vibes, people. It’s all about exhibiting positive energy that can make even the shyest ones or hard-to-get ones addicted to you.
