Sei que, muitas vezes, todos nós dizemos algumas coisas no início de uma relação para fazer com que a outra pessoa se apaixone por nós.

We even make some promises that we don’t mean to keep. And we do it so that person will like us.

Sometimes it’s okay if they’re just little things.

Sometimes you’re allowed to lie as long as they are white lies.

Sometimes it is impossible to keep your word, and you don’t have to.

It’s reasonable for situations like this to happen.

But how many times has he failed you and broken his promises. How many times hasn’t he kept his word?

Try to count and if the number is big, then you should try to make some changes or have a ‘serious talk’ with him.

But he didn’t care for your feelings and that’s why he didn’t want to make you happy.

He couldn’t do what you asked him to do, because to him it wasn’t important. It’s as simple as that.

Sempre que falavam sobre o vosso futuro, ele tentava mudar de assunto ou adiar a conversa para outra altura, mas prometia sempre que iriam falar sobre isso.

Mas, claro, nunca o fizeram. Porque, para começar, nunca tiveram qualquer futuro juntos.

Agora começou a ficar farto de palavras e promessas. Quer uma prova de que ele está a falar a sério.

Do you remember how many times he promised that he’d put you at the top of his priority list?

That he’d try to spend more time with you?

How many times did he promise that he’d be more romantic, more creative, more adventurous for you?

Quanto tempo teve de esperar para se tornar a pessoa mais importante da vida dele?

That he wouldn’t allow anyone to hurt you.

Era ele e tu contra o mundo, certo? Mas eram apenas palavras. Palavras sem sentido.

Ele mentiu e é preciso estar atento a isso.

Why didn’t he stop himself from hurting you? Why didn’t he stop lying? He let himself hurt you so many times.

Ele desiludiu-a tantas vezes. Ele é a razão pela qual a faísca da vossa relação se desvaneceu.

Um homem que a ame nunca pensará em magoá-la emocionalmente ou deixá-la ficar mal de propósito.

Ele fará tudo o que estiver ao seu alcance para se certificar de que está são e salvo de todas as formas possíveis e, quando alguém o magoa, certificar-se-á de que essa pessoa paga por isso, de uma forma ou de outra.

Os homens sabem muito bem o que as mulheres querem ouvir.

Eles sabem que é mais fácil dizer a uma mulher o que ela gosta de ouvir.

Eles sabem que uma mentira leva à ação e que desaparecerá antes da sua reação.

Accepting and admitting your mistakes requires courage and integrity – both traits he didn’t have.

Um homem sem carácter nunca aceitará a culpa e o facto de ter feito algo de errado.

Ele está sempre pronto para jogar o jogo da culpa.

Somos todos humanos e não há problema em cometer erros. Todos nós os cometemos.

Mas se amamos alguém, sentimo-nos culpados sempre que fazemos algo de errado e pedimos perdão.

You were convinced that it was your fault that he wasn’t keeping his word the way you wanted him to.

Pensou que o problema estava dentro de si e que tinha de mudar alguma coisa se quisesse que ele ficasse.

Do you remember all those times you looked at yourself in the mirror trying to figure out why you weren’t good enough?

Do you remember how many times you cried yourself to sleep because he’d broken his promise again? And he did it countless times.

And believe me, he would have continued to do it if you hadn’t stopped him.

When you realize you can’t change him, that not even 100 ‘second chances’ or closing your eyes would make him love you and be a better man for you, that is when you’ll finally be free and start loving yourself more.

Lembre-se de como tentou convencer-se de que seria melhor estar com ele, mesmo que isso a magoasse, do que estar completamente sem ele.

Lembra-te do dia em que finalmente decidiste que tinhas de te libertar dele.

Deixá-lo ir será a coisa mais difícil da sua vida, mas vai valer a pena.

One day someone else will come into your life and he’ll show you that you deserve a man who will stand behind his words and that you deserve someone who will keep his promises.

And that’s why you should be thankful to him. He’s made you realize what you deserve.

Tornaste-te mais forte por causa dele.

Every time he let you down, you searched for comfort in yourself, you found a strength you didn’t even know you had and começou a gostar mais de si próprio.

Valoriza-te o suficiente para te poupares a mais dor.

You’ve already tried so hard to change him and to make him realize how miserable he is making you with all of his false promises.

You can’t do more than you have already done. You are also exhausted.

Dê a si próprio tempo para sarar. You’ll feel peace very soon, you’ll actually be able to hear silence in your heart.

That’ll mean that you are ready to move on.

Don’t be afraid of that new storm. You need the strong winds to blow away what no longer serves you.

As tempestades são lembretes de que ainda estamos vivos.

Life can’t always be great, just like the weather can’t always be sunny, because we learn through contrast.

Crescemos com as mudanças.

If he can’t keep his promises, then he is a man that doesn’t believe in forever.

The word ‘forever’ clearly doesn’t exist in his vocabulary.

But you believe, you believe in forever love and shouldn’t settle for someone who doesn’t.

Merece-o e, eventualmente, ele virá até si.

Don’t let him destroy your faith in people, or even worse, your faith in love.

And always remember, don’t be afraid of storms. Embrace them.
