Only the ones who have been hurt beyond repair know how hard it is to love again. How hard it is to place your heart in somebody’s hands and pray that they won’t drop it.

You are marked by your past, and there’s nothing you can do about it. You want love, but you don’t want the risk that comes with letting somebody in.
