Whenever You Feel Lost In Life, Remember These KEY Things

Whenever You Feel Lost In Life, Remember These KEY Things

Are you feeling lonely, or are you surrounded by so many people but still feel like no one understands you?

Do you feel like you don’t know who you are anymore? Do you think that nothing can make you happy and you’ll never find your true purpose in life?

Think again. I used to feel the exact same way a few years ago, and do you want to know what changed? I stopped feeling but started acting instead.

I used to be in a toxic relationship, thinking I was actually happy. I used to surround myself with negative people, not knowing they were the main reason for me feeling drained and lost.

I used to feel lost in life but not only because of my actions but because of other people’s as well.

They say that what you think is what you become. Our thoughts are the most powerful force in the universe.

So, whenever you feel lost in life, know that you have the power to change it.

If you redirect your thoughts and focus on things you can control instead of those you can’t, you’ll realize that you were never lost, but you were on a journey to finding yourself.

“Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.” – Henry David Thoreau

You cannot find yourself until you lose yourself. You cannot become strong until you face challenges. You cannot understand yourself until you get in touch with your true self.

I was lost. I didn’t know what to do, where to go, and how to start feeling better. I was fighting severe anxiety.

I was in a toxic relationship and struggling to finish college. At one point in my life, I felt so drained and lost.

I desperately wanted to become that one person I ought to be. I felt like half of me was missing, and I struggled so hard to find that half.

In the process of searching for happiness and my missing half, I lost myself. And that is when I started thinking about all the things that I’ve done and those things that I should’ve done.

I realized that I was mainly focused on worrying about the things I don’t have or being anxious about things that might happen.

The biggest problem was that I wasn’t living in the present, and that is how I lost myself.

Slowly I began to realize that I have the power to change things in my life. Feeling lost is not an excuse for being stagnant in life.

I’ve realized that if I want to change things, I need to fall in love with myself first and focus on all those things I can control instead of worrying about the things I can’t.

By focusing on the process of my life and goals, I’ve learned to live in the moment. If you let your mind wander, you will start feeling lost because you won’t know if you’re in the past, the present, or the future.

Once you realize that you have the capacity to redirect your thoughts, you will find yourself. You will also realize that:

You are the only creator of your own happiness!

You are the only creator of your own happiness, and once you realize that, you will find yourself. Everything will start making sense to you.

We have this innate desire to expect the universe to always be in our favor even though we’re not in The Hunger Games (lovers of this dystopian trilogy will understand me).

Whenever we’re feeling sad, we tend to blame that one specific thing for that, and we get mad for even feeling that way.

We think that feeling happy is the only right mental state for human beings, and every other negative feeling and emotion shouldn’t exist.

Guess what: You are the only creator of your own happiness, and everything happens for a reason. Whatever happens to you in life, you have the power to experience it the way you want.

You can feel sad about a certain situation, or you can choose to believe that there’s a valid reason why that happened to you.

You can choose to dwell on the past, thinking about the what-ifs, or you can choose to cope with your feelings, do what you can about it and find the courage to accept the things you cannot change.

You can choose to continue feeling lost, or you can find yourself. You are the only one who can make you happy because only you know exactly what it is that you want and need.

Getting rid of toxicity is the most important self-care method

When someone mentions the word toxic, what comes to mind? Do you imagine only toxic people who make you feel drained all the time?

Yes, you’re right about that, but it’s not only them that you need to pay attention to.

There are also toxic things that you should stop doing because you’re harming yourself. One of the main reasons why people feel lost is because they stop taking care of themselves.

They focus on other things in life like satisfying everyone (only to live in harmony), achieving goals for the wrong reason (only to feel worthy), and so on.

All these and similar things are toxic for your well-being, and if not dealt with, they can make you feel lost every day of your life. If you want to find yourself, you need to stop doing things that are toxic for you.

Most of the time, we’re not even aware that we’re doing those things because we’ve been doing them for so long they’ve become a part of our lives.

If you want to find yourself, you need to stop trying to please everyone

I used to do the same thing. The easiest way to lose yourself is to play by other people’s rules instead of creating your own.

Stop worrying about what others will think of you and stop seeking validation from them.

You are worthy. You have your own dreams and goals to focus on, so why would you waste your time thinking about what that one person thinks of you?

There are 7.6 billion people in the world, and if every single one of them were trying to please others, we would never be able to evolve.

We would only run in circles. So, stop running in circles and focus on yourself. Think about what YOU want to do because they make you happy instead of doing things only to make others happy.

If you want to find yourself, don’t be scared of change

Life is full of choices, ups and downs, inevitable consequences, and constant change. Finding yourself is not about realizing who you are and never bothering to question your own existence and perspectives.

Finding yourself is about constantly evolving and embracing every single change in your life, be it good or bad. It’s about learning lessons the hard way, challenging yourself, and motivating yourself to do better.

Finding yourself is about seeking constant improvement.

You don’t just wake up one day and realize that you’ve finally found yourself, and you no longer have to worry about that.

Every single day of your life, you will learn new things about yourself, but only if you are an active participant in your life.

If you only observe changes and go through life in a passive and safe way, you will never get in touch with your true self. If you keep being satisfied with mediocrity, you will never be able to improve yourself.

If you want to find yourself, don’t be scared of losing yourself

If you want to find yourself, accept life with all its challenges, ups and downs, both happy and less happy moments. The world is your oyster!

You can achieve anything you wish in life, and you can go anywhere you want if you want.

You can lose yourself one hundred times and find yourself a million times only if you want to. So, the question is: Do you want to?
