1. Because having standards doesn’t mean you are high-maintenance
It’s okay to have standards. That doesn’t mean you see yourself as a God-given gift to men, that means you want to be treated right and won’t settle for less than that.
You want someone who cares for and respects you. Someone who is kind, loving and understanding.
Someone who will always make time for you. That’s not asking too much.
2. Because good guys are hard to find but they do exist
You want simple things and an honest partner and they are, unfortunately, the hardest things to find.
Don’t settle because they might be hard to find but it’s not impossible. Not all men are the same.
Just because you had a bad run that doesn’t mean it will continue in that tone.
It’s maybe more about your habit of choosing men who are not good for you than about the extinction of good guys. There are still some left.
3. Because there is no need to rush
Sure, time is passing by quickly and you would like somebody to share your life with, but settling for somebody who is bad at all aspects of life is not the solution for you.
Don’t be with somebody just because of time. Without mutual respect, love and understanding, your life will start to feel like a living hell.
Don’t force a relationship because you are scared that you will end up alone.
Don’t rush yourself because you can’t rush love, it will come when it’s supposed to.
4. Because by hurrying, you might end up in the arms of somebody toxic
If you lower your standards, you are more likely to end up with somebody who is toxic.
Being alone is not always easy but it’s even worse spending your life with somebody who plays mind games with you, puts you down and makes you feel like you are not enough.
Take your time and wait for somebody worthy of your love. And remember, it’s always better to be alone than in bad company.
5. Because you might be sacrificing your future happiness
Staying with somebody who is making you miserable is minimizing your shots at happiness.
How can somebody normal and worthy find you if you are wasting your time and energy on the wrong guy?
Don’t allow loneliness and bad relationships to block roads that lead to happiness. Being single leaves you with options.
6. Because lonely and alone are two different concepts
Being alone is taking the time to realize who you are and what you want.
It’s about learning about yourself and doing things for yourself. Being lonely is a state of mind. It’s missing a connection with somebody.
It’s a passing feeling. You are never truly alone as you always have people in your life. It’s never all about just one person.
Keep in mind that there is nothing worse than being in a relationship and feeling lonely.
There is nothing worse than sleeping with somebody and missing them. There is nothing worse than being in a relationship and being alone at the same time.
There is nothing worse than wishing you were single again but staying out of fear of loneliness.
Remember, being single means loving and respecting yourself to wait for what you deserve.
7. Because there is nothing better than being ‘Single & Fabulous!!!’
There are a lot of people who look at being single like the worst thing that can happen to you.
Isn’t being single a million times better than being in a half-assed relationship? Why would someone settle for less than what they deserve?
Being single gives you time to work on the most significant relationship you will ever have—the one you have with yourself.
Use your time wisely. Get to know yourself better. Grow and evolve.
Pamper yourself. Above all, love yourself and enjoy the time you have just for you.
