Nostalgia is getting the best of you and your mind and your heart keep going back to that happy place you and your ex used to share.

You are thinking about the warmth of his tight hug, you two cuddled up in front of the TV watching a Christmas movie.

You miss him, you miss all those moments of pure joy and you keep forgetting that it wasn’t all that perfect.

All you want to do is reach out and make contact and you think a Merry Christmas text gives you the perfect excuse to casually start the conversation off and maybe even fix what’s already broken.

Don’t do that.

Don’t send that “Merry Christmas” text because he isn’t worth it.

He isn’t worth a minute of your time or efforts.

You have this perfect fantasy of how the texting will take place.

You will write something endearing and heartfelt and wish him and his family a Merry Christmas.

Naturally, you will expect him to have the best possible reaction to your text.

You will expect the same warmth back.

You will expect him to tell you that he misses you, that he now knows what a gigantic moron he has been and that he made the biggest mistake of his life when he walked away from you.

Sadly, the chances of that scenario playing itself out are slim to none.

At best, you will get “Thanx.”

At worst, you will get ignored.

In any case, it will hurt like hell.

Don’t do that to yourself.

Don’t allow him to make you feel small once more.

Stick to the no contact rule and never break it.

Remember, he had his chance, he had all the chances in the world to be the man you deserve and he blew them all away.

Think about all the times he did you wrong.

Think about how much he disappointed you even before your break-up happened.

It was all one-sided, wasn’t it?

You were the one making all the effort, initiating conversations and texts, making plans and doing the impossible to make him happy and make him love you more.

So, whenever you want to text him, whether it’s Christmas or not, keep in mind that you don’t actually miss him, you miss the person you created him to be in your mind.

The real him has nothing to do with your sugarcoated version of him.

He probably doesn’t even have the potential of becoming that man one day.

You can do much better.

Much, much better.

Don’t you ever forget that for a second!

Shift your focus onto yourself and becoming the best you can dream to be.

Look deep inside yourself, look at the person you truly are and realize once and for all that you deserve someone better.

You are worthy of love.š

You are worthy of a man who wants to be with you every step of the way and treat you the way you deserve to be treated.

So with Christmas just around the corner, make the firm decision not to text Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to your ex.

Above all, respect yourself and don’t sell yourself short.

You are worthy of true love, not the half-assed commitment he was giving you.

Be stronger than your nostalgia and your feelings and stop yourself whenever you feel like texting him anything.

See your ex for who he is and not for who you wish him to be.

Once you do that, you will see that he is not the man you are supposed to spend your forever with.

Don’t send that text, don’t make that call, don’t browse through his social media, kick him out of your life and he will, with time, disappear from your heart too.

Go completely no contact through the holidays and grant yourself a clean, peaceful and happier start in the new year.
