I remember when I decided to write a poem for my husband’s birthday. I really enjoyed expressing my love and gratitude for all he does and is to me. The poem is still shared by my friends on Facebook.
A powerful relationship helps us thrive in every aspect of life but it’s also a great source of inspiration. When you feel content and self-confident in life your creative juices start to flow.
Love is an eternal artistic inspiration, but when someone chooses to portray humorous everyday moments of their love the outcome is hilarious.
Creative and witty tribute to a relationship
Her name is Catana Chetwynd and she made a very creative tribute to her current relationship.
She lives in New York and she’s an illustrator with “a soft spot for comics, romance, and wholesome stories”. The series “Catana Comics” has been popular since 2016.
It all started with her boyfriend’s idea that she should draw some comics about relationships. Catana loved comic books since she was a kid and enjoyed “Get Fuzzy” and “Calvin and Hobbes”.
By now Catana Comics has around four million followers on different platforms.
She liked the idea and started playfully depicting funny moments of coupledom. Or to be more precise, her own relationship with John. So her art is whimsical and will infuse you with warmth, cheerfulness, and nostalgia.
Honestly, you’ll be deeply touched and amused by these comics. Anyone who ever tried to get used to living with and around someone in a long-term relationship will find all this very familiar.
Her goal was to delve into odd and unusual moments in different stages of a relationship, and she started when her relationship was still new and they didn’t even live together at the time. Over the years the relationship evolved, and so did her art.
While the two of them were growing as a couple Catana got more creative fuel for her artwork. John didn’t mind becoming a comic character even though occasionally he felt awkward when he needed to explain drawings to his friends and family.
It all seems so real and very funny
Don’t be surprised If you recognize your relationship in her drawings – you’re not alone, millions of other people see themselves in John’s and her everyday moments.
Sometimes you feel so strong attraction to your partner that you wanna swallow him or eat your partner as a kiss is not enough:
Or you wanna hug him in so many different ways. Some of them almost feel as they’re choking you:
Couples that work from home get to spend a whole day together. Working next to your significant other adds a flavor and the workflow becomes lighter and more enjoyable.
Sometimes a double bed blanket is not enough for two. True love will forgive you for having it all for yourself, and do everything for you as you deserve the best:
Even when you’re not aware of it or ready to appreciate it every time:
The relationship gives you a “partner in crime“ who will support every crazy idea you may have:
It’s funny how a long-term relationship makes you feel “wifely”:
No matter how much you may care about your pet it will always have a favorite person. And it’s not you:
There are also funny depictions of what happens when you watch scary movies together before you fall asleep:
You know you’re real soulmates when you dream about the same things and plan the future together:
Your history will be split into two eras: “before him” and NOW when he colors every moment of your life. All your differences and tastes will enrich your relationship. For example, different food preferences don’t have to be something that sets you apart:
I can tell you’re smiling and feeling warmth in your heart after looking at Chetwynd’s artwork. There is magic in the little moments we sometimes fail to notice. Especially when it’s shared with someone special as your significant other.
