Sometimes we get so consumed by this modern dating era that we simply get lost in it. Thanks to the mess going on in other people’s heads and in ours too, we tend to fail to distinguish right from wrong.
Perhaps, this is the main reason why we keep ending in toxic relationships or fighting for people who don’t actually deserve us.
You see, one of the biggest mistakes we make is that we fail to notice the difference between fighting for love and begging for it.
One might say that there is a thin line between these two, but I beg to differ.
When you’re fighting for love, it’s you who’s in charge. It’s you who’s taking the lead.
It’s you being confident enough to go after what you know you deserve and what you believe is worth your time.
Love is a partnership and it always takes two to tango. It always takes two people for love.
Fighting for love equals two people working together on overcoming their differences and solving all the issues together. It’s two people taking responsibility for their roles in the relationship.
It’s always two people in it. If it’s only one who’s trying, then it’s not love—it’s torture.
How do you know if your relationship is worth fighting for? Simple. You both do the hard work and heavy lifting it takes to be aligned with another human being.
You’re never the only one carrying the whole weight. You’re not the only one dragging the whole relationship forward. Because what’s right will never need to be forced.
When you’re begging for love, it’s a sign you’re desperate. When you’re begging for love, you’re probably going after something that was never meant to be yours to begin with.
Because if it did, you wouldn’t have to chase after it.
Begging for love means dancing on your own to the song that was created to be danced by a pair.
Holding onto someone who doesn’t really want to be with you is like gripping sand. It will run through your fingers anyway.
If you have to beg for love, then the person you’re going after isn’t capable of loving you the way you deserve. If you’re chasing someone, it means they’re running away from you.
And if this is the case, then no matter what you do, you’re not going to be their priority. You’re never gonna get their attention, their time or their love.
You’ll just be bending over backwards for nothing.
Never allow your fear of losing a person commit you to someone who’s not good for you. And a person whom you have to beg for love is one of those.
If you have to beg someone for love or to stay in your life, it’s a clear sign they don’t belong there.
Always remember that when one door won’t open no matter how hard you push or pull, it’s locked for you and there isn’t anything on the other side for you.
The wrong person makes you beg for attention, affection, love and commitment. The right person gives you these things because they love you.
See, if someone wants you, you’ll be their first choice without even asking for it. They’ll be the ones to fight for your love instead of making you beg for theirs.
You shouldn’t have to force someone to want to be with you—that’s not how love should work.
When someone is right, you’ll feel it. They won’t make you feel miserable and they won’t hold you at arm’s length.
You know, it’s okay to fight for someone who loves you but it’s not okay to fight for someone to love you. Know the difference.
Instead of wasting your life begging for love that isn’t meant to be yours, always have enough self-respect to know that the world is too big and you have too much to offer.
Remember that you deserve the right kind of love, not the one you have to beg for. May this be your guiding star when you start thinking if you should give it another shot or walk away.
