They say that people who have known each other for more than 7 years are considered family.
Well, we have officially fulfilled that time frame, and I think that the end of the decade is the perfect opportunity to tell you all my thanks and welcome you into the family.
I think you and I are living proof that there is such a thing as chemistry among friends.
We just clicked and started talking.
It was so easy for us to open up and trust each other.
The conversation just flowed and hanging out with you more and more often came naturally.
Within the first few months of our friendship, I saw that you were my soulmate.
I still can’t believe so much time has passed since the first time we met.
Then again, I feel like I have known you my entire life.
I really don’t know where I’d be if it hadn’t been for your support.
You believed in me when I lacked faith in myself.
You kept waking me up and giving me the boost that I needed to move forward.
I will never forget that.
Thank you for being a reality slap when I needed one.
Thank you for reminding me I am worthy of love and that I deserve better.
Thank you for being there through my lows.
You listened to me. You texted to check up on me.
You cried with me. You were there, and that’s all that I needed.
I know you went out of your way to make the pain easier on me.
I know anyone else in your shoes wouldn’t have stuck around through my real problems and my pointless dramas.
But you are not just anyone—you are my person.
I hope I am your person, too. I do my best to be there for you at all times.
I am always honest with you.
You know I have your back and that I’ll support you even when I don’t agree with you.
It’s just you are better with words than I am. You have a knack for saying the right things at the right time.
On the other hand, everything I say comes out wrong.
But at least I make you laugh, don’t I?
I love our laughs.
We have times when we laugh so much that it gets hard to breathe properly.
Inside jokes and sarcastic comments are our tools of communication.
I know we seem weird to people observing us but I don’t care.
The important thing is that we are having fun.
We make hard days easier, and good days better with our shared sense of humor.
Thank you for sharing my happiness like it’s your own.
Thank you for not allowing anything (not even us) to stand in the way of our friendship.
I won’t sugarcoat our story—we had some bitter days, too.
We had our differences and misunderstandings.
We had times where we would get mad at each other or get on each other’s nerves.
The important thing is we never allowed pride or our nitpickiness to stand in the way of our friendship.
We always found a way to work things out.
Our friendship was always bigger than any problem we might face.
Thank you for forgiving me.
Thank you for all the times you apologized and admitted that you were wrong.
I love that we are like that—messy, flawed, difficult at times.
That’s what makes us humans; that’s what makes our friendship real.
I want you to know that I wouldn’t trade what we have for anything else in this world.
I want you to know how much I appreciate you.
I want you to know you deserve the world.
As we enter this new decade, I want to take a moment and thank you for being you.
Thank you for all the beautiful memories.
Thank you for all the heartwarming happy birthday letters.
Thank you for being my best friend.
Thank you for being my family.
