15 Things You Can Do To Clear Your Energy From Trauma

15 Things You Can Do To Clear Your Energy From Trauma

Are you an empath? If yes, there is quite a chance that you are actually taking all the energy in from negative people that surround you.

The thing with this is that it’s quite hard to clear your energy completely because of the fact that we are constantly surrounded with these people.

As an empath, you should know that it’s very important to take all the time you need to clear your space and clear your own energy.

You can’t just keep on ignoring the fact that all this trauma is piling up inside you and making your life a bit harder.

Negative energy in our bodies manifests with bad moods, seeking isolation, constant complaining, anxiety and so on.

Negative energy can come from a lot of different kinds of trauma like: a break-up, divorce, a harsh fight, negative people being in your space, illness and a lot more.

This energy can and must be cleared in order for you to have a happy and fulfilling life again, without constant mood swings, drama and depression.

Luckily for all of us, there are some universal things we can all do in order to clear the energy around us and we don’t have to be a guru to do so.

We just have to devote some time into doing all of these things.

Clean your space

You know those little dust bunnies that have made themselves at home in the corners of your room?

Well those dust bunnies are actually little bags of negative energy that need to be cleared. So do it!

Go into all the corners of your home and clean them so that there is no more dust or dirt that could be killing your vibe.

You know that you feel just amazing when the house is clean and you can finally look around you and be proud of what you’ve done. That’s why you shouldn’t hesitate!

Get some plants

For thousands of years, spiritual leaders have used plants to cleanse their bodies, spirits and minds from negative energies and emotional blockages.

By bringing a piece of nature into your home, getting a bit more green into your everyday life, you will get more relaxed.

My recommendations for plants that are amazing for this job are: dried lavender, basil, oregano and eucalyptus.

Open all the windows

Let some fresh air into your home. You might be doing this on a daily basis, but now, do every morning and in the evening before you go to sleep.

If you want to leave it all open throughout the day, it’s also fine, but if you’re in colder or hotter surroundings and you can’t leave the windows in the house open all the time, I recommend you do it in the morning and evening.

The air gets cluttered with negative energy as well. It gets too hot and gives off some kind of smell that we keep on inhaling, cluttering our own energy.

Burn some sage

It’s well known that burning sage is a great way of clearing negative and stagnant energy. Burn some white sage in your office and home.

Swirl the burning leaves around counterclockwise and after you’re finished, leave it in a metal bowl. The glow will go out by itself eventually.

Dance

Dance is something amazing for releasing bad energy out of your system. Letting go of everything that doesn’t make you feel good is so much easier when you’re body is moving.

For that same reason – dance! Do a dance party in your home all by yourself because you sure do deserve it.

Even if you’re cleaning your home, put on some tunes that make you move those hips and don’t hold back! Let all that bad energy flow out of you. Dancing even helps with dealing with negative emotions.

Eat more fruits and vegetables

Eating too many animal products can clutter your energy very fast and these products won’t help you on your journey of cleansing your mind and body.

Those animals you’re eating now were depressed and scared because of the conditions they lived in.

By eating them too much, you’re actually consuming all of their energy into your already clustered system.

Instead of that, while you’re clearing your own energy, eat more raw foods that are easier to digest and don’t count calories.

Eat as much as you want and make sure that your food is very colorful. This way it won’t only be good for your stomach, but also pretty to look at.

Get creative

I know that not all of us are artists, but that shouldn’t stop us from creating and having fun.

It’s not a secret that people were happier when they were children, mostly because of the fact that we didn’t worry too much about how something looked, but rather whether it was going to make us feel good.

So go get those watercolors, crayons, play dough or building bricks and have some fun. I know that it may seem like a waste of time at the beginning, like you’re not doing anything productive, but you can’t get very productive if you’re not in your best mood.

So, clear all those negative thoughts out of yourself by just letting your creativity flow.

Meditate

Let’s just get something clear: meditation isn’t hard! People tend to think that in order to meditate you have to be an expert, but you don’t.

You just have to be able to close your eyes, focus on your breathing and sit down quietly for some time.

Even if your thoughts keep on popping up in your mind, imagine that they’re clouds in the sky, just passing by.

Don’t be too harsh on yourself because at one point, you will be able to slow down your heart beat and relax.

Be grateful

We let negative energy into our bodies, minds and souls because of the fact that we forget to focus on the positive things in our lives.

For that same reason, sit down every morning, after you wake up and right down all the things that you’re grateful for. You can do the same thing before you fall asleep.

Write down all those amazing things that have happened to you during the day. It doesn’t have to be something super significant, but rather those little things in life we should be grateful for more often.

Cut those negative people out of your life

The thing is that our trauma usually has to do with the people around us. It’s not about something that happened inside us. So, what do we do when we have people in our lives who don’t contribute to our happiness?

We cut them out of our lives! Block them on social media and stop going to places where there is a possibility of meeting them.

Even if it’s a family member or a very close friend, if they remind you of a past traumatic experience or if they are giving you negative energy, they shouldn’t be there.

Do yourself a favor and walk away from toxic people who have nothing better to do but to spread their negativity on to you.

Forgive

When you go through trauma, it is hard to forgive. You blame them, you blame yourself and you keep on holding grudges until they eat you alive.

You have those toxic thoughts in your mind telling you and reminding you of what happened without ever giving you chance to let go.

For your own sake – forgive! Forgive those people because they didn’t know better. Forgive them, not because they deserve it, but because you do.

You deserve to live a life without holding grudges, a life where you can let go of the past!

Also, don’t forget to forgive yourself. You deserve your own forgiveness more than anyone else. It wasn’t your fault that you have found yourself in that particular situation.

It wasn’t your fault and you have to realise that it did serve a greater cause.

You are now transformed into a whole new person, a stronger person—someone who is able to outlive any given circumstance. Be proud of yourself.

Get yourself some healing crystals

It’s commonly known that crystals and gemstones have the ability to help us cure our traumas and clear the negative energy inside and around us.

By putting them in certain places all around the house, you are actually helping the space around you clear itself.

Crystals and gemstones are products of nature that have been made hundreds of thousands of years ago! Having nature around you can help you more than anything.

You can go and search for all the meanings of each crystal and how they can actually help you, but some of my favorites that helped me get through traumas and clear my negative energy were: amethyst, rose quartz, citrine and clear quartz.

Take a salt bath

After a long day at work or a long day of dealing with negative people, take some time and get a nice salt bath.

It helps release stress and negative energy, it helps to cope with sore muscles and overall, some time for yourself is a good idea.

Affirmations and visualization

Have you ever heard the saying that you are what you think? Have you heard of the placebo effect? How does it work? Mind over matter.

You can control your entire body with your thoughts and you have the ability to help yourself heal just by using positive thoughts.

Every morning when you wake up, take some time to write down a positive affirmation for the day, something like: ‘I am healed from all my trauma from the past’.

As you can see, it’s written in a way that’s telling you that you already have what you are aspiring to get. In this way, your brain is telling your body that it already has everything it’s searching for, so it doesn’t have to stress about searching anymore.

Visualisations work in a similar way. Again, in the morning when you wake up, think about the day that’s ahead of you.

Think about it into detail and don’t imagine anything negative happening to you. This way you have a brief plan about what you want to do that day and also you are starting your day with a positive mindset.

Listen to high frequency music

Something that always helps with cleansing negative energy is some high frequency music that helps you create a zen vibe in your home.

The music I recommend is a long list of yoga and meditation playlists on YouTube.

Those playlists are already prearranged and can help you while you’re doing your chores throughout the day, working out or meditating.

Whatever you choose to do, this kind of music should be following you in order to create a soothing environment.
