La "stagione delle manette" è il motivo principale per cui vogliamo accoppiarci al freddo?

C'è qualcosa nell'inverno che ci fa desiderare la vicinanza. Probabilmente è tutto quel freddo fuori che ci fa desiderare il calore di un altro essere umano.

That’s what cuffing season is all about. It’s something in us which is making us want that special somebody to cuddle up with.

There’s also something about Fall and Winter that makes people who would usually prefer to be single or casually dating wanting to be “cuffed” or “tied down” by a meaningful relationship.

The best thing about it is that it will be their natural drive. They won’t feel pressured or forced to be in something more committed; it will just happen.

There is something different in all people, but men especially change. They get into a romance mode, and it’s really great seeing them do that.

Sono più propensi a dare una possibilità agli incontri veri e propri e a lasciare da parte le relazioni. Preferiscono stare a casa e accoccolarsi contro un corpo caldo e amorevole piuttosto che uscire e giocare sul campo.

Il loro desiderio di intimità aumenta e vedono tutti i benefici che una relazione significativa comporta.  

Netflix and chill, maratone di film, popcorn, cioccolata calda, cucinare, giocare a giochi da tavolo, comportarsi di nuovo come dei bambini, sono tutti elementi che sembrano molto attraenti.

Coccole, pomiciate, abbracci e baci sono cose di cui non si ha mai abbastanza.

Also, it’s great having somebody who will take care of you when you are feeling under the weather. Someone who will bring you tea and honey or make you a homemade soup.

Basta avere qualcuno accanto per sentirsi meglio, indipendentemente dal fatto che si sia malati o in ottima salute.

One more upside that’s worth mentioning is that your sex life heats up. You crave each other more and staying in bed through the whole weekend snuggling and exploring each other’s bodies is the best thing to do.

Tuttavia, c'è una trappola di solitudine che la stagione delle manette porta con sé.

Dovete chiedervi se siete davvero innamorati l'uno dell'altra o se si tratta di una sensazione euforica che passerà?

It’s said that the cuffing season lasts from November to April. It ends with warmer days, and c'è un rischio che la relazione potrebbe finire.

But when you look at it, that risk always exists, and it’s better to cuff yourself to someone during the cold winter days and take advantage of the whole situation, live in the moment and see what happens.

Nothing in this life is guaranteed anyways. There’s no point in thinking about what could be. Enjoy what you have, and try to make the best of it.

I polsini possono durare più di una stagione.

E il modo migliore per assicurarsi che ciò accada è quello di fare le cose con calma. Imparate a conoscervi. Imparate a conoscervi davvero.

Parlate tra di voi di tutto e di tutto. Divertitevi, ma affrontate anche conversazioni più profonde.

Ricordate che le cose che iniziano in fretta si consumano ancora più in fretta. Quindi, se quest'inverno vi ammanettate con qualcuno e vorreste che durasse più di una stagione, fatelo con calma.
