1. You become a selective dater
You don’t go on a lot of dates anymore because you have been on too many that looked like a bad horror story and you are not about to go through that again.
But when you do go out on a date, you like to assess the situation.
That came naturally because you’ve had your share of fuckboys and toxic guys for one lifetime. You would much rather stay home relaxing and watching Grey’s Anatomy than deal with some player.
2. You haven’t sworn off men but you are not stressing about being single
You have a difficult time understanding women that are obsessed with finding the one. You figured out that the more you obsess, the further away you are from getting what you want.
You learned to value your alone time; you regained your lost confidence and you learned to wait for someone who will show you why it hasn’t worked with anybody else before him.
3. You learned to be your own priority
In the past, you used to put everybody else’s needs before your own. Let’s face it—you were a doormat and you couldn’t put up with it anymore.
But you learned that that is no way to happiness, so you started putting yourself first.
No, you are not being selfish. You just realized that you have to appreciate, pamper and take care of yourself.
People around you learn from your example and they will treat you like you treat yourself.
4. You became very protective of your commodities
You became very protective of your bed and you like to use all the space it provides. You are still not ready to share it with anybody.
You like your space and time and you don’t let just anybody disturb them. You learned to appreciate your inner peace and demand the respect you deserve.
5. You became closer to people who mean the world to you
Your friends and family were always your priority but you have more time for them since you are single. Their love is pure and unconditional.
They always had your back and they will always be there for you—not to mention that time with them is something which brings you enormous joy, and that’s exactly what you need.
6. You spoil yourself rotten
You made your own single girl bucket list and you put there all the things you always wanted to do but never got around to. You decided to work hard and rest and have a good time even harder.
You realized that there is no time like now to be happy and that you are the right person for that job. So you live, learn, smile, travel, dream and do whatever the hell you want to do with your life.
7. You now know the difference between being alone and being lonely
You have been in a relationship that made you feel lonelier than being alone ever could. Of course, being all on your own is not always so great but then again, neither is being in a relationship.
All you know now is that you don’t want to sleep next to someone and feel lonely. You would much rather wait for someone you deserve than settle for somebody wrong.
You learned that being alone is not as scary as being lonely.
8. You discovered what it’s like to be single and fabulous
You create your own happiness. You do whatever you want when you want it. You don’t have to fit your needs to fit somebody else.
You don’t need to accommodate anybody. You discovered how self-love can be one of the most rewarding feelings.
9. You discovered yourself
Time alone is exactly what the doctor prescribed. You learned a thing or two about yourself and it seems you will be doing that for the rest of your life because you are full of surprises.
Life made you stronger and bolder.
You learned to trust your gut and trust those red flags you find down the road. All in all, you realized you are amazing inside and out.
