“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.” —Helen Keller
My dearest friend,
Thank you for always being my rock.
You know best what a grumpy, anxious person I can be. I know I can be such an ass sometimes.
It’s no secret that I’ve hurt you during some of my darkest moments. Those were the moments when I was the weakest.
But still, you stayed. You can’t even imagine how sorry I am. Please, accept my deepest apologies.
By hurting you, I hurt myself.
There were so many times when I wanted to give up, but you rescued me without me needing to ask for it. Thank you for being my best friend.
Thank you for believing in me when no one else did. You’re my gift from the skies. I have no idea how I deserved this unconditional love of yours.
You gave me all the most precious things you had: love, understanding, patience, a shoulder to cry on. I feel so blessed.
I never wanted to be needy. I never wanted to ask you to be here with me all the time.
It didn’t matter; you were here anyway. You gave me space to lick my wounds and helped me get back on track.
I never wanted to be selfish—please forgive me. When I was crushed with fear and sorrow, you made me get up and continue my life.
I never had a chance to share this with you, but thank you for bringing rays of light to my dark path.
Thank you for making sacrifices, and never asking anything in return. I am eternally grateful for everything you did for me.
I am so insecure at times. Thank you for wrapping up my life with a warm hug of security.
You’re an antidote to my poisonous thoughts. Thank you for making my fresh start possible.
You’re my sword in this jungle of troubles.
I am so blessed to have you because you’re by my side over and over again.
After all the hardships I went through with you by my side, I am sure I have something priceless. Thank you for your endless kindness.
I want to be a better person. I want to try harder. I want to be a bigger fighter.
I admire your strength and courage to move mountains. I feel so rich because I can always count on you. I will do my best to show you how much I love and appreciate you.
You know it’s not easy for me to unveil my emotions to other people. I hope you know I will be grateful until the day I die.
